Dana, Tessa, and I got up early the next morning to get our nails done. The boys were passed out on the floor. We tiptoed out of the basement and into my room. We changed out of our pajamas and into casual clothes. We left the house. I drove us to the mall. The three of us sat in the massage chairs.
Dana tapped my arm. I turned to look at her. "You and Nick were awful cuddly last night." I chuckled nervously picking at my bottom lip. Her eyes went wide. "Tell me everything!"
"I kissed him."
"You what?" Dana and Tessa said, who had now entered the conversation.
"He was rubbing my back and my waist and then my thighs and he smelled so good and I kissed him."
"Did he kiss you back?" Dana asks. I nodded. She squealed. "Oh my god, you two are going to be the cutest couple in school."
"Whoa, slow down Dana. It was nothing. It didn't mean anything, at least not to him."
"Did he tell you that?" I shook my head. "Then you can't think like that."
I sighed. "You're right."
She waved me off. "I'm always right." I rolled my eyes. Luckily neither of them brought it up again. We got our toes done. Dana and I got white and Tessa got navy blue. We then got acrylic nails; white for me, pink for Dana, and dark navy blue for Tessa. I drove us back to the house.
We walked inside to see the boys in the kitchen. Luke was cooking while they all sat at the counter. Dana walked over to them hopping up onto the counter. Luke put the pancakes onto plates. I sat down. Nick pulled my chair closer to him. He leaned next to my ear. "We need to talk."
"Later."
"Leia," he said in that demanding voice that always makes my heart beat faster.
"Later," I said again, grabbing my plate. Dana and Tessa both followed me upstairs to my room. We all sat on my bed. I sighed. "I'm not ready to talk to Nick."
"One of us will stay with you," Dana said. I took a bite of my pancakes. "But, girl, you have to talk to him about what happened eventually."
"I know but I don't want to ruin homecoming." she nodded. We finished our food and ended up taking a nap. My alarm went off at 3 waking us back up. I shook Dana and Tessa. They both yawned and stretched. I grabbed my phone. I had three texts.
Brandi🍷: Do you still want me to come over?
ME: yeah, of course. We are about to start get ready so come over whenever
Brandi🍷: Okay good! I'll be there soonNicky: Corazon, we need to talk
Nicky: What color is your dress? I don't know what tie to wear.
ME: mom got you a tie, I'll get it for youI rolled off my bed. I walked over to my desk and grabbed the tie from its box. I walked downstairs to the basement. Luke was asleep on the couch and Ricky and Ryder were playing video games with their headsets on. Nick stood up and walked over to me shirtless. I froze. "Corazon, can we talk now?"
I handed him the tie. "Here, it matches my dress," I said.
He stepped closer to me. I backed up until I was against the wall. He put his hand next to my head. He looked at the tie. "Is your dress ombre or something?" I nodded. The tie is blue, purple, and pink ombre. It matches the colors on my dress. "Stop ignoring me."
"I'm not ignoring you," I said. I heard the doorbell ring. "Ooo that's Brandi, can't keep her waiting." I ducked under his arm and ran upstairs. I opened the front door. Brandi was standing there holding a bag. I smiled at her. "Hey, you're here."
