"Edward, quit it," mom squealed as she ran into the living room. I looked up from my phone. I rolled my eyes with a smile as he picked her up. "No no no. Don't do it," she whined.
He wiped what looked to be spaghetti sauce on her cheek. Edward and I laughed. "It's very cute that you thought I wouldn't get you back." He kept one of his arms wrapped around her as he pulled his phone out and answered it. "Doctor Pruitt... she did?... yeah okay prep her, I'm on my way." He hung up the phone and put it back in his pocket. "Mabel-"
"You have a patient," she stepped out of his arms and turned around. She kissed his cheek. "it's okay."
"I can come back over later tonight, if that's okay with you?" She nodded. He leaned down and kissed her softly. "I love you."
"I um- I-"
He kissed her forehead. "I'll see you tonight baby." He looked up at me. "Bye Leia."
"See you later." He smiled at us before leaving the house. She sighed sitting down on the couch. I stood up and walked over to her sitting beside her. "I didn't know y'all were saying the L word."
"He said it the first time the other night after we, after we you know." I chuckled. She rolled her eyes. "I couldn't say it back. I tried to but I froze. He just smiled at me, kissed me, and told me to go to sleep and that it was okay."
"Do you not feel the same way?"
"I do. Of course I do, how could I not? He's perfect, I just- the last person I said it to was your father and we both know how that went."
"Edward is not my father, he's nothing like him. He accepted us right away and he does everything in his power to make you happy. Of course you can wait until you're ready but telling him that you love him too isn't going to scare him away."
She kissed the side of my head. "I gotta go finish dinner." I nodded. She got up and walked back into the kitchen. I laid back on the couch and turned my phone back on. The doorbell rang. "Leia baby will you get that?"
I got up and walked over to the front door. I opened the door to see Ricky with a duffel bag over his shoulder. "Hey Ricky."
"Hey Leia," he said, leaning down and pecking my cheek. I smiled. "I don't mean to be a bother but would i be able to stay the night?"
"Yeah of course. Is everything alright?"
"My parents found out," he said. I raised my eyebrow. "They saw the guy I went off with drop me off at home. They uh they kicked me out."
I wrapped my arms around him. "I'm so sorry." I grabbed his hand and brought him into the house. "Mom?" I called out. She walked out of the kitchen and over to us. "Could Ricky stay here for awhile?"
"Just for the night Ms. Evans, I can find a hotel tomorrow."
"Absolutely not darling.
"Mama!"
"You know you are welcome to stay here as long as you need," she said squeezing his forearm. Ricky blew out a breath of relief. She smiled. "I'll go set up the blow up mattress for you tonight and Luke will clean up the guest room tomorrow for you. Sweetie, go set a plate for him and yell at the boys to come upstairs."
I nodded. She kissed his cheek before running upstairs. Ricky set his bag down next to the door and took off his hoodie putting it on top of the bag. I grabbed a plate and silverware. I set it on the table. Ricky wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked down the stairs. Nick and Luke were playing video games. I grabbed a foam football from the floor and threw it at Nick. he turned around. His eyes moved down and narrowed. "Quita tu brazo de mi novia."
Ricky pulled his arm away from me and held them up. Nick turned back to his game. I walked over to the couch. I bent down and tucked my head under his arms. He lifted his arms up and rested them on my stomach as I sat in between his legs. "How long until you're done?"
"We have a few more minutes in the quarter," said Luke. "Nick's trying to beat my score."
"Trying to?" Nick scoffed. Luke groaned as Nick scored a touchdown. "I just did beat your score."
"Damn It."
Luke stood up and turned off the xbox. Nick threw the controller at him. "You sore fucking loser."
I turned around in his lap. "Can we go eat food now?" he nodded. I stood up. "Oh Luke by the way, Ricky's going to be staying with us for a while."
"Where's he gonna stay?" he asked. "The guest room is a mess."
"And so is yours so probably my room."
"And why the hell is that?" growled Nick. "that isn't happening."
"Cause he has to and yes it is," I said, putting my hands on my hips. "Why are you being a jerk?" he shook his head. He stood up. I pushed him to sit back on the couch. "Luke, Ricky go upstairs."
"Ooo, she's about to whoop your ass."
"Luke," I growled. He chuckled as Ricky and him walked up the stairs. "What is the matter with you? Why do you care if Ricky stays with us?"
"I don't care that he's staying with y'all," he almost shouted. "I just don't want him in your damn room."
"Whoa whoa whoa, why are you yelling at me?"
"I don't want him sleeping in your room. He can sleep on the fucking couch for all i care but he fucking is not going to sleep in your room.."
"Wait you don't trust Ricky? You don't trust me?"
"Of course i fucking trust you."
"So you don't trust Ricky?" I asked. "Your best friend since seventh grade? What is the matter with you?"
"HE FUCKING LIKES YOU."
My jaw dropped and my eyes widened. "What?" I whispered. I shook my head. "Nicky baby i swear he doesn't. You're freaking out for no reason." I kneeled down in front of him. I grabbed his face in my hands. "You can't do this just because you think someone likes me. I don't care about anyone else. I care about you."
"But-"
"But nothing. It's not fair to me that you think i'd ever act on someone else's crush, that i'd cheat on you." I felt a tear run down my cheek. He got down on his knees in front of me kissing away the tears. "I'd never cheat on you especially after-"
"Shit corazón, i didn't mean to- i never meant for you to think that i'd think you'd cheat on me. I'm sorry." he got down on his knees in front of me and wrapped his arms around me. "It took me way too long to get you and now that i finally have you, i don't want anything to ruin it."
I smiled. "That's sweet Nick but you have to relax." he leaned forward and kissed me. I closed my eyes as I kissed him back. He wrapped his arms around my waist. He laid me down on the floor and crawled on top of me. He held himself above me. He kissed me hard as if to show me I'm his. I ran my hands through his hair. He groaned in my mouth.
"I'm sorry for getting jealous. I shouldn't be jealous of you and Ricky. I know when to admit i'm being a dick."
"You only admit it when you get caught," I giggled.
He put his head into my neck kissing my skin softly. "You know-" he said as he moved his lips to my ear. He nibbled my earlobe. I sighed. "We could just stay down here... i could kiss you here." he moved his lips to my neck. "And here." he lifted my shirt up to under my bra. He moved down my body and kissed my stomach. "And here." he bent my leg and kissed my upper thigh.
I smiled. I ran my hand through his hair as I stared down at him. "You know if we aren't upstairs in a few minutes Luke's gonna come down here. I don't exactly want him to see you in between my legs with my shirt pulled up."
"I can't decide if I care or not." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. He kissed my thigh, my stomach, my neck, and under my ear. "Let's go get some food."
