After talking to the leaders about the legend a bit they told us an address that would be our house while we stay in AngelCity.
“Our house? I thought Nate has his own house, I just thought I could go back to earth” It felt weird saying earth, this place still felt kinda human.
“Yes, you are at your most vulnerable state while you don’t know how to use your powers. Any demons could kill you then we would all be doomed, so you stay here” Wow, I know I probably won’t be able to talk to my friends after what happened but I would at least like to see earth again or…
“What about my ‘father’? Where is he?”
“He is a messenger so might not be at home but he lives next to the bakers and he always leaves it open”
“Why does he leave it open, can’t messengers sometimes be gone for days?”
“Here in AngelCity we all trust each other. Now go and talk to him and settle in to your house a bit” Said one of the leaders, whom I had found out was called Parisa.
We walked out of the building and past the guards, they stared at me and I stared back at them. Nate showed me the way to my father’s house. I should really start calling him by his real name, and when I say real name I mean real name not the one he used as a human, Angelus. It’s just hard knowing my whole life was a lie. Now that I think of it, I wonder who my parents really were, what happened to them?
When we reached the house next to the bakery I knocked on the door, I know Parisa said we all trust each other but I still want to be polite.
“Come in!” shouted my fath- Angelus. “Alexis what the hell are you doing here?!”
“Nice to see you too” I said as he pulled me into a hug.
“I guess you found out then, about the whole angel thing? Of course you would otherwise you wouldn’t be here. But how did you find out?”
“It’s a long story” I told Nate to go to our house and settle in while I talk to Angelus. We sat down and drank some coffee while I told him everything that had happened, including the fact that I am from legend.
“When I took you in I never thought you could be the angel to save us all…” He chuckled.
“That reminds me, if you’re not my real father then who is and what about my mother? Did I have any siblings? What happened to me? Why did I stay on earth for so long?” So many questions were racing through my mind and I wanted them answered.
“Woah, calm down Alexis”
“Lex” I corrected him.
“Lex? Ok I'm just going to tell you everything. Your parents died while they were fighting in battle, your father was shot with an arrow, your mother was stabbed in the heart” he gave me a moment to let that sink in; I was saving the sinking in till he had finished. “You never had any siblings. After your parents died you were put in an orphanage. I was good friends with your parents so the orphanage asked if I would take you, I refused at first and left you at home a lot when I had to come here. I used to, and recently stopped, work for the leaders taking messages to and from the dark city, basically another AngelCity but it is where angels of death and destruction stay. Anyway, after a while I decided to care for you and eventually started to love you as a daughter” He smiled and looked up at me.
“Sooo…why did you keep me on earth?”
“I decided I wanted you to have a normal life instead of having to know about your parents so I became your father and stayed at home until you where 13. I then made up the fact I had work far away and had to leave you often”
“Thank you, for telling me this, it clears up a lot of things”
We hugged for what felt like forever before I left to go to Nate’s and my house.
