"Superboy, can you try and get it open?" Alexis asked as Superboy went up to the door and began to punch at it, hoping to at least put a dent in it so they can use something else to get it open. But the door wasn't even receiving a scratch.

"Let me help.." Alexis said as she blasted at the door. The door was covered from inch to inch with ice and Alexis thought it would be enough to break the door. However when she was finished, Superboy punched at it and it didn't do any damage at all. "That's impossible! This door can't be stronger than any powers! What is going on?"

"I think I can answer that." The three heard as they all turned around and saw a large control room above them. And in it was no other than Lex Luthor himself. "You are intruders in my building. I set off the alarm because I knew you would answer. But your one simple task was investigate the thief that stole data from me. Instead, you did your own little investigation. Isn't that right, Nightwing?"

Nightwing glared his way before he sat Beasley down. "Ah! And I see you found my little asset. She always seems to keep escaping for some reason."

"You're sick, Luthor! You're kidnapping children and use them as weapons for other countries! Once the police hear about this, your little game will be over!" Alexis shouted to him as he laughed.

"The police? Please, Miss Winters, you're going to need to get out of here first before you could even think about taking me down. I had placed a bomb on this building that's set for 5 minutes. Once it hits 0, well, it was a pleasure knowing you." Luthor said before showing a button or remote or something and pressing it.

"What do we do?" Superboy asked Nightwing as the three of them watched the large control room disappear into the ceiling. "One thing's for sure we need to make it fast."

"Maybe I can get us up there and Superboy and punch through the ceiling." Alexis said as she looked at Superboy. "That's not a bad idea."

"Okay, Frostbite, get us up there. When we're there, use your powers and create a weak point in the ceiling. Superboy, when she does that, punch straight through." Superboy and Alexis nodded before Alexis created a tall cliff the top of the ceiling.

"Let's go." Alexis said before she started climbing. "Is it sturdy?" Nightwing asked as she looked back at him.

"Of course. It may be ice, but you won't slip." Alexis said before she continued climbing. Superboy climbed after her and Nightwing grabbed Beasley, who had enough strength to wrap her arms around his neck, and he began to climb after them.

"Okay, hold on." Alexis said as she blasted at the ceiling. She made sure to make enough ice to cause enough damage to the ceiling. "Alright. Let's make this quick!"

"Here we go!" Superboy said before he jumped from the little cliff of ice and punched at the ceiling. Alexis sighed in relief as she saw a large hole made by Superboy. "I got you, come on!"

Alexis grabbed Superboy's hand when he reached out before he pulled her to the floor above them. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." Alexis said as she continued to hold his hand. She doesn't know why, but she didn't want to let it go. It was almost as if she wanted to continue to hold it for the rest of her life. But she knew she had to let go. And so she did.

"Hey! A little help here!" Nightwing shouted as Alexis and Superboy helped him up and he sat Beasley down.

"Guys!" They heard as they saw Miss Martian and the Beta squad approach them. "We have to go! This place is about to blow!"

"No! I can't leave those kids behind!" Alexis shouted to them. "Frostbite! We can't risk our lives to save theirs!" She heard Nightwing shout as she glared towards him.

"FUCK YOU, NIGHTWING! You're a coward! You run to save your own damn life, and that's not what heroes do! You can run, but I'm staying to help them!" Alexis yelled to him before she jumped back down in the hole.

"Alexis! Don-" Alexis created an iced cover, thick enough to where even Superboy couldn't punch through. Alexis looked at the kids in the containers and she quickly placed an ice barrier around the entire room. This barrier was strong enough to withstand any explosions. Even this bomb.

Even though she knew she and the other kids would be okay, she closed her eyes and waited for impact.

That's when the explosion came.
