"Will they be okay?" Alexis asked Batman as she watched some of the kids interact with each other. "Yes. They'll be out in our secret shelter until we get a hold of their families." He responded back before Alexis nodded.

"What you did today was really brave.." Batman complimented as Alexis looked up at him. "Really?"

"Yes. You had the heart to save those kids. That's what it means to be a hero." He said as Alexis nodded. "Yeah..hero."

"I gotta go. But, again, good job today. You did good for your first mission." Batman said as Alexis smiled and he walked away towards the other kids.

"He's right, you know." Alexis heard as she turned and Miss Martian and the others. "Thanks. Though, I have a bone to pick with somebody."

"Don't worry. We chewed him before we found you." Miss Martian said, but Alexis shook her head. "He left me back there to die. I'm not having this!"

Before Miss Martian could finish, Alexis walked over to the bioship where she saw Nightwing talking with Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman.

".. we'll talk about this later." Batman acknowledged before Nightwing nodded and the three Justice Leaguers walked away. When Nightwing saw the others approaching, he went to say something but Alexis cut him off.

"Save it. I don't need to hear about your bullcrap." She spat before she got on the bioship.

"Great job, guys. That was really good team effort." Nightwing began before Alexis shook her head and got up from her seat. "Frostbite, hey! Hold o-" Miss Martian began while holding her back from the pilot seat, where Nightwing was sitting.

"You are such a dick, you know that? That wasn't no damn team effort! You left me behind and you're suppose a leader and not leave a teammate behind! But no! You need to get over what happened 4 years ago! I saved your life, and you were being a stubborn little boy! I got over it! Now is the time for you to grow up, too!" Alexis shouted as Nightwing looked away but then looked back at Alexis.

"I was following protocol.."

"Protocol my ass! That wasn't no damn protocol! And if it was, then maybe it's time for a change." Alexis said as the ship slowed down to a stop mid air. "What did you say?"

"You heard me, Nightwing." Alexis said while approaching his seat. "Alexis, don't." Beast Boy said as Alexis glared into Nightwing's soul.

"I said, if that's the protocol, then maybe it needs to change." Alexis said slowly while leaning on the arm rest. "Starting tomorrow, you and I, we won't just be teammate to teammate. We will be leader to leader."

"Woah, Alexis. I don't think that's how this works." Miss Martian said before Nightwing smirked up at Alexis.

"It's okay. If that's how you want to do this, you do what you want. But like I said, we have a protocol." Nightwing said while Alexis stood back up.

"Your protocol will get people killed. Like this kids. What would have happened if we left those kids? That would have been blood on our hands. We were suppose to them and the families now wouldn't trust us to protect anyone because someone didn't give the order to save them. You're lucky I was there, otherwise, you would be dead." Alexis finished before she went back and sat down.

She could feel everyone's eyes on her, but she didn't care. She was too angry and upset at the moment to care.

"Alexis?" Alexis heard as she turned around and saw Beast Boy and Miss Martian approach her. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just..I couldn't believe that happened. I mean..I don't understand. We were so close. Nightwing and I as kids, then it just seemed like he snapped." Alexis said while shaking her head.

"I don't know.. we'll figure it out. Right now, the rest of the team is on their way. Let's go meet them." Miss Martian said with a smile before Alexis followed them both into the debriefing room.

"Guys! Something's going on!" Someone said as Miss Martian, Beast Boy, and Alexis came into the room to see Superboy and Nightwing going at it.

"..maybe she should be out leader! She would do a lot better job than you!" Superboy said as Alexis raised an eyebrow. "There is no way we're going to let some reckless child run this team!"

"Reckless child?!" Alexis shouted before both of them looked her way. "You-"

"Ahh!" Nightwing shouted as he felt an intense pain in the back of his head. "Nightwing? Hey! What's going on?" Miss Martian asked as she approached his side.

"Get...it..out! Quick!..." Nightwing struggled to say as Miss Martian's eyes glowed green, then back to her normal orange orbs. "Alexis! I need your help!"
