Not Our Parents

Chapter Five

After my homework was finished, I brushed my hair into a ponytail and took off all my makeup. I got changed into a black Nike sports bra, a black tanktop, and black Nike shorts. I put on new socks and put on my sneakers. I plugged my headphones into my phone and walked downstairs. My mom greeted me at the door with two water bottles and we walked to the gym.

"So how's your classes going?" She asked as we reached the end of our block.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"They're okay."

"Just okay? Any boys you've got an eye on?"

I looked at her and continued walking.

"I don't really pay attention to boys at school." I laughed.

"Gabbie, you're my daughter, we both know thats a damn lie."

We laughed and rounded the corner and seen the gym in sight.

"I dunno, I haven't really noticed anybody yet."

The best part about my mom, is that she can't tell when I'm lying.

We signed into the gym and went our seperate ways. I went over to the eliptical and she walked the treadmill.

We met up at the front desk about two hours later and she looked at my butt.

"You work that thing out anymore, it's going to fucking explode."

I laughed loudly.

"I don't think it works that way."

"I don't think it's possible to get bigger!"

"It's not even that big!"

My mom stopped two boys around my age.

"Excuse me, do you think her butt is big?"

They laughed and looked and nodded their heads yea. I put my hand on my face and kept walking.

"Thank you! See Gabbie?"

"Mom!"

She laughed.

"Come on, we gotta get hoagies for everyone."

I nodded and we walked over to Wawa. I ordered an oven roasted turkey and cheese hoagie with hot peppers, mayonaise, and pickles. I took my slip and walked over to the drinks and snacks. I grabbed a bag of white cheddar popcorn, a bag of ranch veggie straws, and a bag of baked flammin' hot cheetos. I got a bottle of mountain dew and and paid for my stuff. I got my sandwhich from the deli and my mom and I left. We got home and my dad gave her a hug and a kiss hello. I smiled and said hi to my father and went up to my room. My soda was halfway gone by the time we had gotten home, so i finished it and got in the shower.

Once I was out of the shower I got dressed in a t-shirt and shorts. My hair was up in a big bun and i put on socks. I ate my sandwhich and drank my energy drink. I turned on the Vampire Diaries and there was a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I called.

The door opened and Eli walked in and sat on my bed.

"Hey"

"Hey, what's up?" I asked curiously.

"You know Vinny?"

"Yea, why?"

"Stay away from him."

"Eli, you can't tell me -"

"Gabbie, I swear to god, stay away from him or I'll break his fucking neck."

"I can talk to who ever I want"

"Oh yea, whoever you want, except him."

I rolled my eyes, "Get out"

"I mean it Gabbie."

He got up and walked out of the room. As soon as he walked out of the room, my phone went off. I picked it up to see and unknown number. I unlocked my phone and seen the words, 'Hey, it's Vinny.' I instantly saved his contact as "Vinnnny" with kissy face emoji's.

(Anything that looks like this in texts is Vinny)

Gabbie; Hey what's up?

nothing much, you?

Gabbie; watching the Vampire Diaries, in bed, sore.

What are you sore from?

Gabbie; my mom and I went to the gym about an hour ago

Sounds fun, haha.

I spent most of the day texting Vinny, I learned his favorite color his Baby Blue , his favorite kind of pizza is Hawaian, his favorite rapper is Drake, and he loves basketball. And by the time ten o'clock came around I was exhuasted so we said our goodnights and I set my phone on my bedside table. I rolled over and snuggled into my warm bed and drifted slowly to sleep.
