"Please, please let me call her, ash, I need to talk to her!" Luke begs through tears as Ashton sighs. Luke hasn't stopped asking since he woke up the next morning and it's almost night time now.

"I don't think it's a good idea! You two clearly need space." Ashton sighs. "What we thought was right, huh Luke? She's not good for you, bubba."

"No! No! You're such a fucking idiot! I'm the one who fucked it all up! I need to talk to her!"

"I know you feel like it's your fault but she-"

"No! No! I hurt her! I hit her! Punched her! She's never hurt me! I punched her because I'm a fucking idiot! I need her, I need to apologize, I can't lose her, ash! I need to make it better!"

"You what?!" Ashton gasps. "Luke, tell me what happened?"

"I-I was throwing a fit! And being stupid over nothing and she took away my amp cord so I punched the mirror because I was angry and I bled and she tried to help and a punched her! I didn't mean to, I'm sorry! I was so angry and irrational and I really wasn't trying to hurt her I just-" Luke cries

"I know bubba, I know. God, Luke." Ashton rubs Luke's back.

"Please call her, let me talk to her."

"Maybe give her some time, lu. I know you want to but I just think she needs time."

"I can't! Please, i need her!"

"Alright, alright, I'll try."

Ashton sighs as he goes to another room and selects her contact.

"Hello?" She sounds rough. He nearly cringes. 

"Delilah. Luke told me what happened- I'm sorry. He really wants to talk to you-"

"I can't, Ashton. Goodbye."

"Wait!"

"What? Is everything okay? I'm not gonna talk to him right now, I don't know what to say and I don't want to listen. I need some more time to think. What do you need?" She snaps.

"I- just- he's really sorry. He didn't mean to. He's heart broken. He hasn't stopped asking for you or crying." He hears her sigh before the line goes dead.  He goes back to Luke.

"I'm sorry lu, she's not ready to talk yet." Luke heaves a heavier sob and falls into Ashton.

"I hate myself! I can't believe I did that! I hurt- I hurt her! I'm just like him!"

"You're nothing like him, Lukey. It's okay bubba."

"It's not okay! Nothings okay! I deserve to have the shit beat out of me for what I did to her!" Luke sobs out. "I love her. I love her and now she hates me. She'll never forgive me. And I don't blame her."

It's a week of calling delilah everyday only for her to say she's not ready and hang up and Luke basically crying nonstop before finally he doesn't let Ashton call and check with her first and he finally manages to get her on.

"Delilah." He sobs when he hears her answer in a tired sigh. Her breath hitches and he lungs ache. It's him, and his voice is breaking her heart. Heading him cry like that just makes her want to hold him.

"Luke I don't want to-"

"I have to! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I hurt you! I didn't mean to, I love you, I didn't wanna hurt you, I'm so stupid, please please please come talk to me, I need you." He wails and delilahs heart clenches.

"Luke..." she sighs. "It's not- I'm not- I can't-"

"Please! I need you! I love you! I'm so sorry, please, I'll never ever do anything like that again, please just come over and talk to me!"

He hears her sigh and a faint "fine" before she hangs up and he sighs in relief and wipes his teary eyes.

"She's coming!" He yells to Ashton.

Delilah breathes heavily and nervously as she knocks. She misses her baby boy so much. Luke answers and she feels that familiar tightening in her chest as his blotchy red face and puffy teary bright blue eyes and messy blonde hair. 

She can tell he's trying to hold it in but he begins hiccuping and the tears stream down his face as he lets her in and she sits on the couch.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Li, I didn't-"

"It doesn't matter that you didn't mean to Luke. No one means to. You did." She mutters, it comes out colder than she intended, and Luke balls.

"I know, it'll never happen again, I feel h-horrible. I won't ever b-be like that again, you can do whatever you want to me but please don't leave me, I need you, I love you. I miss you so much and I can't sleep and I swear I'll do anything if you'll just let me come home."

Tears are streaming down delilahs face, they have been since Luke first spoke. He really is breaking her heart.

"You can beat the shit out of me for hitting you, I don't care. I deserve it, I just want you, I can't be- be away from you like this!"

" I don't wanna hurt you, Luke." Delilah sighs.

"This hurts. I'll take anything over this." Luke sobs, and finally Delilah crumbles and scoots closer to Luke and lets both of them succumb to the desire to wrap around the other and hold on tightly.

"I love you, baby." Delilah mumbles.
