Thirteen

*ring ring*

"Hello?" Toni immediately answered the phone call from Jughead.

"There's an emergency at the Wyrm! We need you there!" Jughead said, acting terrified.

"Come on Jug, you know i don't go there anymore. Veronica won't allow me" Toni said and Jughead convinced her.

"What happened to our serpent laws huh? Are you still the Toni that we can count on in times like this?" Jughead said, acting mad.

"I'm sorry... I can't add another weight on my shoulders right now. I'm already drowning Jughead" Toni said, full of sadness.

"The emergency is related to you, Toni. Tomorrow, 9 am at the Wyrm 2nd floor. It's up to you if you will go or not" Jughead said and ended the call.

Toni puts her cellphone on her pocket and continued walking down the hallway on the way to Veronica's room.

TONI'S POV.

I'm currently walking down the hallway of the hospital, thinking about the possible things that I can do to make Veronica happy. I'm already drained. I don't have much energy left. But my priority is Veronica for now, I can't think about anything else. There's so much weight on my shoulder and everytime i go home to have a rest, i breakdown. I lost Cheryl, and i don't want to lose Veronica too.

Veronica's mother, Hermione forced me to propose to Veronica but we are not yet married. She said that if i do that, it might prolong Veronica's life more and i think it is working. Happiness really prolongs life. I can see that her skin and lips color are getting back to normal and she is gaining weight already.

I arrived at Veronica's room and she's just sitting there watching tv.

"What took you so long?" Veronica immediately said.

"Sorry, just have to answer a phone call" I said and sat beside Veronica.

"Who? The serpents?" Veronica asked.

"No..." I just said and looked away. She will be mad at me if i admit the truth.

"That's good" Veronica said and wrapped her arms around my belly and her chin on my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" I asked Veronica and she just nodded.

"What do you want to do?" I added.

"Cuddle?" Veronica said and lay down. I also lay beside her and immediately hugged her and kissed her forehead.

"I like it when you do that" Veronica said and smiled at me and then rest her head to my chest until she fell asleep.

I just stayed for a couple of hours until Hermione and Hiram came back. They sent me home and they took the rest of the time watching out Veronica.

I went home and went to my bed to take a rest. I'm still thinking about going to the Wyrm tomorrow. They said that they need me and it's been 7 months since the last time that i step into that place...

THIRD PERSON POV.

The next day...

"Are you ready?" Jughead said to Heather and she immediately nodded.

They are currently sitting on the couch of the 2nd floor at the Wyrm, waiting for Toni to appear. Aside from Jughead, there is Sweet Pea and Fangs in the room.

"Any minute now..." Sweet Pea said, feeling nervous about what to happen.

"Relax guys, everything will be alright" Heather said and Fangs sat beside her.
