3rd Person POV.
That night, after finding out that Jeno was making out with some girl, Taeyong kindly but still stricktly rebuked him for making them worry and telling them nothing about his whereabouts.
And that was the moment were everything went wrong.
He started started yelling at Taeyong, that he isn't his mom or dad, moreover not even his brother, so stop trying controling his life and leave him alone. Taeyong was taken aback because of his act and he knew that there is something wrong.
His little brother, the one who always followed the rules and was always a sweetheart, said that. It's not about the controling part, he always knew that Jeno hate it when somebody tell him what to do.
It's the brother part. Yeah, they weren't biological brothers. Taeyong mothers was the first queen, but it was a forced marriage and the king never loved her, nor Taeyong. After she died in a disaster, the king re-married. After a year, Jeno was born
It's all true, and they really aren't real brothers, but Taeyong always looked at him like he was and always tried helping him where he could.
He nursed him when he was ill, helped with his homework when he didn't understood something and sometimes he get scolded because of something that Jeno did to save him from their father.
If I say they father, the King of the kingdom, was a very strickt person it's subtly worded. If somebody did something wrong, he chastised them, even his own sons. True that he never laid a hand on them, but ordered someone to do it for him.
Beating with hand, leg, bat, whip, knife. Different kind of torments. Sometimes after a beating the King let the warriors go in and train on their still bleeding and wounded body.
And this was the better version. If you're lucky enough, you die during the process.
Sometimes they was ordered to work in one of the mine that the kingdom had, even when the person was 8 years olds, but got nothing for it. No money and no food.
They needed to go to work at 6 in the morning and go home at 8 in the night. They needed to do this without breaks and food until the King was satisfied. If somebody dared to feed them, they got punishment too.
As soon as Jeno said what he said Taeyong ran out of the room, his roommates after him, trying helping the boy. That night he cried himself to sleep.
It was the next day and the mood of the three team changed. The Culture and the Technology team was mad and sad at the same time, but mostly mad at Jeno for saying such things to an angel like Taeyong.
The Neo team was a little bit different. They were mad at Jeno too, but they knew that something's wrong. The Jeno they know never would say such things to nobody, and not to his brother who he always loved. Taeyong knew that too, but was too sad to notice things like that.
They were in the cafeteria, eating their breakfast like every morning, the only difference is a certain black haired boy was missing from their table.
But soon showed up, with the girl on his side. Everybody was looking at them as the girl kissed his cheek as a goodbye. The ones who knew the three team a little bit better looked at their table surprised to see the others eighter shooting draggers toward the boy with their eyes or just looking at him with sad eyes.
The boy went to get some food and walked toward his table, showing no regret or sorry toward Taeyong or what he did.
- Hey! - He said with a smile once he sat down, but got no answer, just stares coming from the three table. - Don't you want to say something? - Taeil asked after some time, when he realised that the boy will not speak.
- I already said. Hey! - The boy answered. - Not that. - Ten answered with a straight face. - Then? - Don't you want to say sorry? - From who?
- From Taeyong for start. - Mark said. - Guys, it's okay! - Taeyong said, looking at the food infront of him. - Taeyong... - Taeil said with a softer voice. - It's okay. - He said looking at Taeil, then looked around the table to see the conserned face of his friends looking back at him. - I'm okay.
- You sure? - Lucas asked from beside him, putting his way bigger hand on Taeyong's smaller one. - You can always count on us. - What's wrong with you? - Jeno asked with one of his eyebrow raised. - What do you mean?
- "You can always count on us"- He said, mocking Lucas sentences and grimased. - What's next, we will painting each others nails, while talking about guys? - Excuse you? - Ten said with disbelieving clearly showed in his voice and face.
- What? - He asked with a smirk. - I was just joking. - You know what? - Haechan said from the other table, hearing everything.
Jeno looked at him with a judging face and eyebrows rised.
- It's okay if you don't have feelings, but that doesn't mean everybody else is like that too. Your TEAMMATES just tried cheer your brother up after what You said to him yesterday and you just come in, act all lovey-dovey with your girlfriend and act like you did nothing wrong. What the heck is wrong with you? - He asked, voice cracked at some point because of what's happening.
He may come off as a heartless and mean person sometimes, but he has one of the most fragile heart and he may not have that close relationship with Taeyong, but he know what is like to being hurt from your own family. He was there too, but that's for an another time.
- I don't have a brother. Was the only thing Jeno said, making Taeyong tear up and ran out. Before anybody could do or say something somebody poured water at his face. - I hope choke on your girlfriend tounge.
It was the only thing Jisung said, before storming out of the building with his teammates and the Technology team after him, searching for Taeyong. - What's wrong with everybody today? - Jeno asked, eating his food. - You know, - Mark started. - you're really an asshole. Come on guys!
And that's how Jeno was left alone in the cafeteria, everybody looking at him and all of his friends searching his brother, because something he did. Or did he really?
