You closed the broom closet door, finally done with your chores for the day. Free to do whatever you like! But what to do with your free time? You reach into your back pocket to check if Lydia had called you back yet.
Ugh, nope. She hadn't.
You really hoped she was okay. Deciding to try her one more time, you pressed the call button, hoping she will pick up.
~Meanwhile~
"When can we go to the Haunted Mansion?" Lydia asked for what seemed like the thousandth time. She scratched her head, adjusting her black lace Mickey Mouse ears.
"We'll go there after this ride." Charles reassured her, patting her shoulder.
"Do we really have to do this one?" The gothic teen asked, peeking over the line of families to get a glimpse of the technicolor tea cups, spinning in nauseating circles.
"Of course we do!" Delia exclaimed, clearly the most excited one there, "It's a DisneyLand staple! That's like going to a bakery and not getting a single sample. If we're doing Disney, we're doing it right!!"
Charles leaned down to whisper to his daughter, "She'll tire herself out eventually. Maybe later we can sneak off to the Nightmare Before Christmas section."
Lydia chuckled, nodding in vigorous agreement.
A vibration in her boot distracted her. She reached down into the ankle to check who it was. Oh, it was (Y/n)! She had called a couple of times, but thanks to Delia's "no phones unless it's for emergencies" rule, Lydia hadn't been able to get back to her. The kind workers started to let the Deetz family onto the ride. Lydia quickly grabbed Delia's arm to get her attention.
"Hey, Delia? I'm gonna sit this one out." she muttered, trying to sound convincing, "I think I had too many churros."
Delia immediately became concerned, "Oh, honey, I'm sorry! Here, I think I have some medicine in my purse-"
"No, that's okay. Oh, look, they're letting you on!"
Before Delia could protest, Lydia rushed away to a corner where it wasn't too crowded to answer the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Lydia, it's (Y/n)! How have you been?"
"I've been as good as anyone can be with "It's a Small World" stuck in their head. But, I am having fun."
"Haha, awesome! Hey, have you listened to my voicemail by any chance?"
"No, I haven't had time. Delia's got this 'no phone unless it's an emergency' rule. Why?"
There seemed to be a bit of hesitation before (Y/n) continued.
"Well, you know how you said to call you if anything strange or unusual happened?"
Lydia chuckled, already knowing what this was about. "Who did you meet?"
"I reunited with the Maitlands."
Lydia blinked, "Wait, reunited?"
"Yeah, they were my babysitters when I was little."
"Oh, wow, talk about coincidence."
