3 months later
May 6th, 1924

(Y/N) and Alastor had been seeing each other more and more. (Y/N) had been dreading the day her sister's children would arrive at her place. But she knew that they wouldn't arrive for another 3 months.

6:30 am

(Y/N) began to greet the day like she normally would. Get out of bed, get clean, getting dressed, feed her pet bird, and fix her hair. She made herself a pot of coffee to help keep herself awake due to the fact she had stayed up most of the night. Reasons unknown. Reasons that (Y/N) refused to talk about. She made her way downstairs, grabbing a book that her mother had left her, and begins to set up shop for the day.

7:59 am

(Y/N) placed her cup of coffee on the counter next to the register with her book in her hand. She was about to start reading when she heard a knock at the door. 'So much for catching up on my book', she thought as she walked towards the door. (Y/N) unlocked the door, since it was locked, and opened the door a little bit. Once she saw who it was, (Y/N) opened the door all the way to see two police officers and her sister's children. "Well, well, well. Lookie what we got here, I might have to arrest ya for looking this good." The other one elbowed the "flirtatious" officer in the gut. "Sorry about him, he's a widower and he thinks that flirting with every woman that he meets is gonna do something good for him. " The older officer stepped forward, "My name is Corben. Corben Danners. It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am. This is my rookie partner, Jordan Callen." (Y/N) shook the officer's hand and welcomed them inside.

 8:30 am

"Have you heard from your sister before she passed?" Officer Danners asked while getting all the custody papers ready, Officer Callen, on the other hand, was just busy checking (Y/N) out. She was tempted to tell him that she was already courting someone, but she focused on Danners for the time. "No, we haven't spoken to each other ever since she left me on the streets 7 years ago. I believe I was 15 years old when that event took place." Danners just hummed. He continued asked questions while (Y/N) began with the custody papers.

Meanwhile, Officer Callen kept bringing the children's belongings upstairs to the guest bedroom.

"What are their names?" (Y/N) finally asked Officer Danners. "Their name's are Audrey and Adrian Crevan."

"That was my father's last name before my mother went back to her maiden name? Did the two have a father?"

"From what Audrey told us, your sister would bounce from man to man. Never staying with one. Until she settled with her husband."

(Y/N) looks over at her niece. She notices the Blue Heeler puppy in her arms, she also got a good look at Audrey's face before looking away. "She looks too much like her mother."

Danners look at her questioningly, "Is that a bad thing?" (Y/N) looked up from the paperwork and met his gaze. She shook her head and continued to finish the papers.

12:27 pm

Officer Callen had to stay for a little longer to address the situation to the twins before he continued to flirt with (Y/N), which she found distracting while she worked on a client's suit. She was about to kick him out when she heard the bell rang that signified that someone had opened the door.

"Officer Callen. You have to hurry back down to the station. There's been another murder!" The officer left in a hurry, but Callen stayed put.

The door opened again to reveal Alastor with his Cheshire smile. The way Alastor made Officer Callen's nervous made him leave the building immediately.

The twins walked down the stairs and looked at the smiling man. Alastor opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. "I'm just as confused as you are Alastor. Trust me when I say that I'm confused." (Y/N) said as she placed sewing pins in the suit.

(Y/N) sighed as she knew why Alastor was there. She pointed to a mannequin, "Put it on the mannequin and I'll see what I can do." He placed the jacket on the mannequin and stood by her side. She turned and placed a quick kiss on his cheek before examining the damage on the coat.

Alastor left the store shocked while holding his cheek. 'She's a brave and daring woman. I think I'll keep her.' He thought to himself with a smile on his face.
