3 years later
Astilbe, Chromia, and Killian were all at school for young demons, Hell may be a violent place but it had a better school system then what Americans have, now it seemed like an average day for everyone, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, that was until Killian and Chromia came over to Astilbe at the end of the day. "Hey Astilbe, are you excited for Career Day tomorrow?" Killian asked as Astilbe gave him a confused look. "You didn't forget, did you?" Chromia interjected between her young cousin and uncle. Astilbe still had a confused look and then sudden realization hit her like a bullet train, "THAT'S TOMORROW?!" She quickly placed her hands to her hair. "You did forget." Chromia rolled her eyes. "I need to ask someone!"
"Wait, you never asked anyone?!" Killian was shocked that Astilbe had forgotten. "I forgot!" The other two had a glimmer of hope for Astilbe, "Well, you've gotta get someone soon. I'm bringing my dad." "And I'm bringing my dad too!" Chromia and Killian had smiles on their faces, however, Astilbe looked down to the ground. The only thing she had gotten from her father was presents for her birthday. Astilbe picked up her head, "Let's get home quick, I need to ask everyone to see who can be there for me!"
The three children rush home from the schoolyard with Astilbe in the front as she runs and practically rams the door open. "Astilbe, calm down!" Killian says as he's out of breath, he's gained more of his father's prominent features while still having his mother's personality. Chromia was the opposite, she had very little of Angel's personality and looks, all she had from him was her heterochromatic eyes and the pink dots underneath her eyes. Astilbe looked exactly like Anastasia, except she had Valentino's fuchsia pink eye color. "I can't be calm! Career Day is tomorrow and if I don't get someone to be there for me, everyone will make fun of me!" Chromia was panting as she made it to the door, she might have wings but she doesn't know how to use them to fly. "Don't worry, someone will be there for you." She began coughing as she was out of breath. "Thanks, but I'm gonna go ask everyone!" She rushes off to find all the adults, thankfully, all of them were home at the same time. "Good luck!" Killian calls out to his family member, who is technically his niece.
Astilbe wasn't paying attention to Killian as she runs into the library where a few of the adults are. "Astilbe? What's got you in such a rush?" Audrey places down her book as she looks down at her niece. "School has this thing called Career Day where all the kids bring an adult to teach the other kids about what they do and I completely forgot about it and I need someone to come for me." She answered while slightly panting. "Oh, Chromia was telling me about that! It's tomorrow isn't it?" Audrey's smile was slowly going away. "Yes! Can any of you come with me tomorrow?" The adults all looked at each other giving off nervous glances. "Oh, I'm sorry Astilbe, but I'm busy tomorrow. The Hotel staff need me to help out." Astilbe's face had a frown on it as she faced (Y/n). "I'm so sorry too, I have a meeting with the other Phoenix's about the uprisings going on, it's very important. The King will have a fit if it's not dealt with." Astilbe looked to Adrian with puppy eyes. "I have a meeting as well, on the other side. I'm so sorry little flower, I can't make it either." Adrian apologized as Astilbe's frown intensified. "Sorry kid, I can't make it either", Ruth started, "I have to meet up with someone and I'll be gone the whole day, I can't miss it".
At this point, Astilbe was holding back her tears, "I-it's fi-fine, so-someo-one else ca-can probably go and help me." (Y/n) went to her, "Oh we're so sorry that we can't go Astilbe, maybe Grandpa Jerome should be able to go." She smiled, hoping that encouraged the young demoness to keep trying. Astilbe nodded, ran out of the room and headed to the living room where Jerome was reading the latest Hellish Newspaper. He saw her dried up tears and put the newspaper to the side, "Hey kiddo, what's wrong?" He asked her. She explained, "School is doing Career Day tomorrow and I don't have anyone to go with me!" She gave him a look that said, "Will you be the person who goes with me for this?"
Jerome made a face that read total regret as he looked at her, "I'm sorry flower, but I'm busy tomorrow, Charlie called me a little bit ago asking me to help out with the Hotel." Astilbe teared up again and silent tears fell down her cheeks as she realized none of the adults could go with her. Alastor and Angel suddenly appear to see the crying child. "Astilbe, whatever is the matter?" Alastor asked her. Jerome explained the situation to the two, "Career Day is tomorrow at the kids' school and judging from her expression, I'm guessing everyone in the mansion is busy tomorrow." Angel got down to his knees in front of his niece and wiped her tears, "Oh poo, Astilbe I doubt you'll be the only person there without an adult to go with them!" He tried to encourage her, "B- but wha- what if y- you're wr- wrong?" Angel gave her a caring smile and gently rubbed her cheek, "I'm never wrong! It'll be completely fine!" Alastor gave Angel a look but looks back to Astilbe and nods to reassure her. "O-okay.." Astilbe gave a nod.
The Next Day
The next day at school, the three children, including Astilbe, Chromia, and Killian, walked through the school's hallways, as they passed, they saw many kids with their parents/ guardians, and they all looked absolutely excited. So far, it seemed Astilbe was the only kid who didn't have an adult there for her. "I'm the only one without an adult.." she felt embarrassed that she forgot. "Not everyone is here yet, I doubt you're the only one." Killian tried to encourage her
"I hope so..."
