Mary's POV
I woke up startled very early in the morning. The sky was still dark.

I thought I heard screaming, that's why I woke up. My twin sister also woke up when I heard another one.

"Did someone scream?" She whispered to me.

"I think." I replied.

"Do we wanna go look?"

"Yeah. This is exciting!"

We tiptoed as quietly as possible. I transformed into a mouse and Emilie used Mist. The sound came from Anais and Lukas' bedroom, which we thought wasn't good.

We opened the door to see a scared Lukas and a sweating Aunt Annabeth. I thought it was a meanie, but no, just a harmless kind of spider.

"It's okay...it's okay..." Aunt Annabeth stuttered. We showed ourselves, since Uncle Percy and Anais were sleeping.

"Um, I heard screaming, can we help?" I said, "you alright?"

"Sure, get rid of that spider, please," Lukas looked at us, "I'm scared of it!"

Emilie easily willed the spider to float out of the window. I turned into a cute little owl, Lukas' favorite animal. After both of them calmed down, we slept again. Aunt Annabeth said it was still dawn.

Storm's POV
When I woke up, the RV was noisy, so I assumed everybody was up. I went to the dining table, sat down, and ate. There were blueberry waffles, eggs, ham, and orange juice.

"Hey, did you hear that Aunt Annabeth and Lukas freaked out about a spider- again? 76th time it happened." Zoey grinned.

"We were there." Mary and Emilie said together.

"Wait, who even keeps track of how many times it happened?" Bianca questioned.

"I don't know, maybe Dad? He's the one who said it." Leon stated.

Lukas was not too interested and simply ignored.

"Uh, Leo, is it ACTUALLY the 76th time?" Aunt Hazel said.

"Who would be able to remember that?"

"Mmm... it's an estimation. I don't actually 100% know." Uncle Leo answered.

"Mom, what's an estimat- estimation?" I asked my mom.

"Put simply, a careful guess." She replied.

"Ohh..."

Percy's POV
"Hey, do you guys wanna go adventuring?" My daughter said excitedly, "To the other side of the beach?"

"Yeah!"

"Can we go on our own?"

That question threw us parents into a debate.

"I don't know... you could get ambushed by monsters." Annabeth commented.

"Aw, what could possibly happen?" Leo blurted out, "Besides, they have powers."

"Oh, you're underestimating the danger, Leo."

"I guess it can be practice for them, who knows if the children suddenly have to survive on their own..." I suggested to my wife, who was still frowning.

"We could take safety precautions." Frank added.

"Maybe... whatcha think, Reyna, Jason?"

"Frank's right." Reyna decided.

"Yeah," Jason agreed, "I think I can help with the safety precautions." He whispered his idea to Annabeth.

40 minutes later all the children were equipped with weapons and armor. We decided that Anais and Zoey should lead, since they're the oldest, most experienced of the children. Lukas was their voice of reason- takes after his mom, heh.

We also gave them some ambrosia and a whole lot of instructions. The 8 young demigods set off, chattering happily.

So the safety stuff that we talked about is like so: Jason will watch over them, disgusied by Mist. Emergency plan A is Jason will let off a thunderstrike, signalling for Nico and I to come help. We have a plan B for extreme cases, and Annabeth has a plan C just in case. We hoped we didn't have to use any.

After the kids were far enough away, Jason set off. The rest waited.
