Heroes of Olympus: Thirteen Years Later

Chapter 11

Bianca's POV
When everyone else was busy with the harpies, mine flew off. With me! I tried escaping, didn't work. I was also above water, so my powers didn't work very well. I'm not Anais, no way I was going to live if I fall.

The harpy took me to an island. I could see that a ton of harpies live on the cliffside there. As we got closer, I saw a forest underneath. I took the chance to escape and stabbed the harpy.

"Ow!" Pain shot up my arm. I think all the shaking made me accidentally cut myself. I focused on willing the plants to save me.

I fell on a net of leaves and grass. The nice thing about being a child of Demeter is you know about herbal stuff. I collected the things I needed, and fixed my cut as best as I can.

The next problem was I didn't know where I was. I just walked aimlessly in circles.

"Hey, flower child, you lost?" A nymph asked.

"Uh-huh..."

"I'll help you, we nymphs know this forest like the back of our leafy hands!"

We traveled for what felt like HOURS. Up trees, down hills, across rivers, around lakes. I asked the nymph her name. Rowan, nice name. We talked and joked and bonded over nature stuff.

"How'd ya end up here, Bianca?" She said.

"Oh, by harpy..."

"What?!"

"Harpy kidnapped me, I freed myself."

Honestly, I've never felt so related to anyone before. Being the only child of Demeter in the group, I'm... different. Weird. Even Dad - Nico - has Aunt Hazel, and he says he's an outcast.

Finally, we saw blue. The blue ocean. Reminds me of Anais. The soft breeze reminds me of Zoey and Storm. Man, I missed them.

I don't see any sign of help yet, so I napped.

Piper's POV
You don't have to be a child of Aphrodite to tell that Nico was very distressed.

"I've lost one Bianca, I don't wanna lose two..." he wailed.

Will surged forwards to try calming Nico down. I helped with some charmspeak. Then Percy gave an one-minute summary of what happened.

"Basically, harpy attack. First flock was dealt with, second flock ambushed, midair battle, third flock out of control, Jason zapped them - we came - realized Bianca got kidnapped by a harpy, Jason and Zoey are off on a SAR mission," he faced me, then turned to Frank and Hazel, "with Mary."

"Ohh... I get it now, explains him." I gestured vaguely to Nico

I observed the children carefully, and it seemed like Percy wasn't being overdramatic. Most of their armor were dented and scratched, shirts were torn, and there were a lot of scrapes and cuts- classic harpy-claw induced damage.

"Uh, guys, we better get in. I think the weather's turning horrible." Annabeth said.

"Yeah, it is," Storm said, "I can feel it."

Silently praying that my husband, daughter, and Mary will be safe, I trudged in. Five minutes later, a violent thunderstorm started. The wind was incredibly strong, thunder was booming every few minutes or so, and it rained heavily.

"Dad, calm down!" Storm mumbled, "Your other son, my half-brother, and your granddaughter is out there."

I just realized. This kid, about the same age as my daughter, is my half-brother in law. Wow.
