"I don't know if I can do this kourt, what happens if I mess up, or I fall on stage, or I forget my lines!" Nini exclaimed to Kourtney. Nini was panicking because auditions for the musical, High school musical, were being held after school, and Nini was nervous, really nervous.
"Girl, chill, your gonna get Gabriella." Kourtney told Nini, but it still didn't help. Once Nini heard the last bell ring, her and Kourtney dashed out of the classroom to make sure they get there on time.
Soon enough, they arrive at the auditorium and notices many students already there. "Okay, let's begin, first I would need to know what role you are auditioning for so me and my assistant-" "And choreographer." "Yes, so we can write it down, now get in a line!"
All of the students rushed to get into a line as miss Jenn started to go down the line. Nini could hear the students say what role they wanted like, "Gabriella!" "Zeke!" "Kelsi!", but what caught her attention is when someone said Troy, and miss Jenn told him the spot was taken.
"Okay, attention students, I have forgotten to inform you that the role of Troy is taken." Miss Jenn announced. Many students gasp and some start whispering. "Who got the role?" Ej questions, "He should be here soon, but anyway let's continue!" Miss Jenn continues asking students what roles they would want to audition for.
"Hey, it's okay." Nini whisper to Ej, who was looking unsure and confused. "Who got Troy, I mean I was a perfect Troy, now who will I try out for?" Ej says. "There is always Chad you could audition for." "I guess..." He goes quiet after that. "And who are you auditioning for?" Miss Jenn asks Ej, "Chad." "Oka-" "Are you sure the role of Troy is taken." "I'm positive.". Ej sighs and looks down at the floor. "Who are you auditioning for?" Miss Jenn asks Nini, "Gabriella." Nini trys to sound confident, Miss Jenn smiles at her.
Once Miss Jenn finished asking everyone, she told everyone to sit down while she calls out names.
"I'm still nervous." Nini whispered to Kourtney, "Just don't think about it, and you have an amazing voice!" She whispered back. "Do you know who got troy?" Nini shakes her head no
"Gina." Miss Jenn calls out, Nini sees a girl walk onto the stage, she then starts to dance and all Nini could think was that her chance of being Gabriella was gone. She could even sing and act! Nini began to slightly panic, but she knew that if she was confident and didn't believe in herself, she wouldn't get the part.
"Ej." Nini whispers good luck to him, and he walks onto the stage. "Yes, legends, one and all, but do you think that any of these Wildcat legends became legends by getting involved in musical auditions just days before the league championships?" Ej started, "Get your head in the game!" The students yelled, "No, these wildcat legends became legends because they never took their eye off the prize." "Get your in the game!" "Now who was the first sophomore ever to make starting varsity?" "Troy!" "So who voted him our team captain this year!" "Us!" "And who is gonna get their sorry butts kicked in Friday's champion ship game if Troy's worried about an audition?" "We are.". Everyone then laughs and started to clap as Ej sat down.
"That was great!" Nini whispered to Ej, "This may have not been the role I wanted but it's better than nothing." Nini smiles at Ej.
"Nini." Nini takes a deep breath and walks onto the stage. All of a sudden the door opens and everyone looks and see's Ricky Bowen. Nini looks at him confused, and too make matters worse the lights all of a sudden turn off, making some scream. "It's okay, don't worry!" Miss Jenn tells everyone, "Nini continue." No one could see anything, that was until they heard foot steps go onto the stage, and see a flash of light from a phone. Ricky. Ej then slightly glares at Ricky while getting up and doing the same thing.
Nini takes a deep breathe once again and starts to sing.
"Living in my own world, didn't understand, that anything could happen, when you take a chance. I never believed in, what I couldn't see, I never opened my heart, too all the possibilities. I know that something has changed never felt this way and right here tonight, This could be the start of something new, it feels so right to be here with you oh. And now looking in your eyes, I feel in my heart, the start of something new. I never knew that this could happen till it happened to me, oh yeah, I didn't know it before and now its easy too see, yeah. It's the start of something new, it feels so right to be here with you oh. And now looking in your eyes, I feel in my heart, the start of something new."
She notices Miss Jenn smile at her and then write something down. Nini then turns toward Ricky, "What are you doing here?". Before he could answer Miss Jenn did.
"Everyone, this is our Troy Bolton."
