"I-its hard to believe that I couldn't see, you were always there beside me." Ricky winced at his singing. "Thought I was alone with no one to hold," Nini rolled her eyes. "But you were always rig-" The two were both so out of tune and not in sync that Carlos got annoyed.
"You know what's hard to believe? How much you guys suck right now!"
Carlos threw his script onto the ground dramatically. "Carlos, give them a break..." Kourtney said. "No, guys this is theater, at least act like you two like each other!" Red chuckled, "Get it, 'act'."
"If you two sing out of tune one more time, I will remove you from this musical, and make your life a living h-" "Carlos calm down!" Miss Jenn said. "I'm sorry, this whole musical is making me nervous because they are performing soon and emotions are getting the best of me." Carlos sat down.
"How about I take Carlos outside to get some fresh air, or see the guidance counselor..." Seb whispered the last part. Miss Jenn nodded as Seb and Carlos left the room.
Miss Jenn turned to the two, "Guys, what's going on?" "Nothing!" They both shouted. "Maybe you two should figure this out-" Gina tried to say but Nini interrupted. "No one asked for your opinion Gina, so stay out of it."
"Jeez, she's scary..." Ej muttered, moving away a bit. "Gina did nothing wrong." Ricky said and Nini ignored him. "She can't even talk to me!" He faced Miss Jenn. "I wonder why?" She whisper but he heard.
"It's not a big deal!" He argued and she laughed. "It's not a big deal, you know I would totally slap you right now-" "Ha, but you can't!" And Kourtney and Ashlyn immediately grabbed Nini when she was about to hit Ricky.
"Okay, calm down Nini..." Ashlyn said. "I don't know what happened but this will not ruin my musical so please fix it." Miss Jenn pleaded. "That's gonna be hard if he doesn't even trust me." "You really wanna do this right now?" "Yep." And the whole group became annoyed as the two argued away.
"You know, practice will be cancelled this period, go to class!" "But the bel-" Miss Jenn glared. Everyone rushed out of the room, Miss Jenn walked up to the two leads. "Fix it, because no one wants to hear your arguing after school." And then it was just them two.
Nini grabbed her bag and went to the auditorium, Ricky following her. He grabbed her hand, turning her around when they were in the middle of the stage. " Déjà vu..." He muttered.
"I want some alone time Ricky so please leave me alone!" Nini rolled her eyes. "I don't care Nini, I'm not doing this again." He yelled. "Why Gina? You all of a sudden trust the girl you just met." "I was messed up in the head, my parents just told me there divorcing!"
"Last time we stood here you asked me if there was still a part of me that had feelings for you, well guess what? I did and I do but every time we work things out something gets in the way and I don't wanna deal with it!" "So every time, one of us do something bad you walk away?" She scoffed.
"I'm sorry then." She shrugged and tried to leave but Ricky spun her around and pulled her closer with his hands at both sides of her face, Nini gasped.
"You want me to say sorry? Okay then I'm sorry," He continued. "I'm sorry for not saying I love you back before you left for camp, I'm sorry for joining the musical when you obviously hated me, I'm sorry for breaking you and Ej up, I'm sorry for going to Gina instead of you and calling you a bunch of stuff that is not true, You remember when we were practicing the dance moves and I stepped on your foot? I'm sorry for that to because I honestly don't deserve you. I was a jerk when I was younger for burning that stupid doll and still am. Okay Angel, I'm sorry for being the first guy to make you cry or being the first guy to give you a heartbreak. I don't wanna be that guy."
"I wanna be the guy who makes you smile even when I'm not in the room, the guy who doesn't get jealous because I know you'll choose me no matter what. The guy who comes to your house when your upset or sick, the guy who your moms trust won't break your heart. The guy who gets to call you Angel whenever I feel like it because if I'm not that guy then I-I don't know what to feel because I'll be miserable and because I'm in love with you, so I'm sorry."
By the end of his speech, they both were in tears. Ricky waited for Nini to say something but she just stared at the ground. "Nini?" He whispered. "I-I.." She choked out. Nini pulled away, letting his hand go.
"I-I can't-" She grabbed her bag from the ground and ran out of the room. Ricky sat on the ground thinking about what just happened. He ignored the ringing phone beside him, and just sat there.
