Chapter 18

Lauren POV

As I shut the door to my locker as the school week ends, Camila was right there.

"Do you make it a habit on creeping up on people?"

She puts her hands up as she smirks. "I just wanted to see you before you and Normani go on your shopping spree."

How do you stop yourself from smiling like an idiot? "I'd never miss a chance to see you." Wow Lauren. I should smack myself in the face.

"You are cute." Camila takes a step closer.

Her brown eyes are looking in mine causing my breathing to slow down. Every second that passes I feel my body getting weaker.

I look away from her eyes before I get to mesmerize. The problem is my eyes went from her eyes to her soft lips.

I take a hard swallow. My body temperature is rising. I look back at her and she wiggles her eyebrows at me. Is she trying to temp me on purpose?

My brain loses functions as I start to lean forward. I get three inches from her lips when my head turns hearing Camila's name being called.

"Camila." My mouth drops open when I see Austin walking towards her.

What the hell is he doing here? Camila takes a couple steps away from me.

"I'll see you tomorrow." It was obvious I was now annoyed. "Have fun with Austin."

I turn to walk away. I go to the front door and leave the school in a hurry. Every moment gets interrupted, every moment. I start walking down the sidewalk when I see a car pull up.

"Get in." Normani yells.

Shit. Austin showing up in the hall made me forget I was supposed to meet her in the parking lot. I go to the passenger side and get in.

"Were you trying to ditch me?"

I buckle my seatbelt as I speak. "No I wasn't thinking straight. Austin showed up when I was talking to Camila and it made me lose concentration."

"Wait he is in our school?" Normani was in disbelief.

I nod. "Yeah, but please don't turn back around."

Normani and Dinah both know they broke up, but they have no idea why and what happened. If they did, I'm sure Normani wouldn't want to see Austin, but since she does I know it's tempting for her to whip the car in a U-turn.

"Do you know why he is here?"

My mind goes to one possibility. "He probably wants her back."

I know he was paid to date her, but it was clear that she is way better than Becky. Honestly don't know what he sees in that girl.

Normani starts driving out of town. "I doubt Camila will take him back if he tried. I honestly don't think she ever had legit feelings for him."

I wonder if she truly means it or saying it to make me feel better.

"So I know this isn't my place to say." She starts saying. "But I don't think you should be friends again with Megan."

Where did Megan come from? "Why not?"

Normani nervously taps her fingers on the steering wheel. "Because she isn't a good friend. Dinah and I barely saw you last year because you always had to cater to her."

"Don't you think you are overreacting?"

"No!" Normani was firm. "Look how she treated you the other day. Who cares if you were lying she had no right to talk about your family like that."
