Lauren POV
It's early as us girls are at the airport getting ready to fly to California where Ally is waiting. We board the plane. I sit by the window with Camila beside me. Across the aisle Normani and Dinah sit together.
I look at my phone before turning it off.
Megan: I'll let you know how their visit go
Lauren: Thank you
I power my phone off and put it in my bag. "Do you regret coming?" Camila ask. "Since your sister and brother are in town this weekend."
"No, it's probably better I'm gone."
Camila looks at me questioning what I mean. "Why's that?"
"Because I'm not supposed to see them right now and I don't' want to mess up the process." I explain. "Megan's parents really need to bond with them to see if they will take them. If I'm there I would take away from the bonding time."
Camila nods. "How does this all work exactly? I don't understand it."
"Well if you remember Megan was one of few people who knew everything about my family. Part of that was because her mother works for the system. They have a foster care license so they can take Taylor and Chris."
"Why didn't they take them in the first place?"
"Because they are through a different agency that they got put in." I tell her. "Megan's mom is pulling strings and hopefully it works out."
I'm not sure what I'll do if this doesn't work out.
"How soon could they possibly move in?" Camila is full of questions but I don't mind because it's distracting me as we go off the ground.
"Maybe after this weekend if not in a week." I smile thinking how I will get to see my siblings more often. I just can't get my hopes up too high.
"Doesn't your mom come home Monday as well?"
"She comes home Wednesday." I answer excitedly. "I'm nervous but happy."
Camila leans in and kisses my cheek. "Things are looking good for you babe."
She is right. The only problem with good news is usually bad news follow at some point. "Are things with your mom any better?"
I see her frown. "Not really. She doesn't treat me different but there is a negative tension. I feel bad telling her I would kick her out. I think it was a harsh reminder that she doesn't have control. It was the wrong approach."
"You could fix it." I point out. "You could have your father put the house in her name so she doesn't have to fear of getting the boot anytime you guys get in an argument."
Camila takes in what I say. "I should. It's her house so I shouldn't act as if it's mine."
"Are you two done talking about serious shit?" Dinah ask from her seat. "You need to make sure you got this song down."
I hear Camila giggle. "You'd think she does this for living."
We both grab out the music sheet so we can go over our parts in our heads. Camila told us when we get there we will rehearse a dance routine. Unfortunately she says it will be hours long. I guess this way we won't be on stage looking completely awkward.
Halfway there I decide to nap until we arrive. I rest my head against the window and Camila rest her head on my shoulder.
I wake up as the plane touches ground. It doesn't help my heart that I had a dream that we were crashing and waking up to a sudden jolt of the wheels hitting the ground.
