Camila POV
The gate opens to my mom's house and my mouth drops. "What the hell happened?"
There is toilet paper all over the front and broken egg shells everywhere.
I rush out of the car and ran inside. "Mom?" I yell going through the house, "Mom?"
I walk into the living room where she was. She turns to look at me and I could see the sadness in her eyes.
"What happened outside?"
She tries to smile, but she couldn't force it. "The high school kids paid a visit last night." She takes a deep breathe, "It's no big deal."
She looks away from me and goes quiet. Her words and actions are telling me different stories. I go to the kitchen and search for garbage bags.
I grab a couple and head outside. I clean up everything I could reach. Let's just say a couple of bags were nowhere near enough.
I go inside and hop in the shower. Last thing I want is to be covered in eggs all day.
Once out, I grab the phone and call Lauren. She won't answer my text so I figured I would try calling.
"Hello?" I hear a groggy voice.
"Can we meet up and get lunch or something?"
I was in no business for small talk right now.
I hear her let out a puff of air. "I'm supposed to eat with Megan. I wouldn't want to ditch her, you know."
I take a small breath, "Do you care if I come? I really need to talk to you."
There was hesitation her side, but she finally answers. "Megan won't be drunk. What if she notices you?"
"She won't."
Lauren finally gave me the okay.
Lauren POV
My head is absolutely pounding. I roll out of bed and grab a pair of pants. I slid on the jeans and throw a sweater on. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I don't bother with makeup. I throw a beani on and head to the diner here in town.
I sit in the both waiting for Megan and Camila. I repeat in my head, call her Kacey.
Megan got here first and she wasn't alone. Curt and Daniel filled in. Curt sat by me and Megan was on the other side. I guess it's a good thing I picked the round booth.
Camila comes walks in and I say a small prayer. Please don't recognize her.
I signal and she comes over. Curt scoots closer to me so she can sit by him.
"What do we owe this surprise?" Curt gives her a smug look. "Kacey isn't it?"
She shakes her head, "Yes."
Curt was getting crazy eyes over her and it was creepy. Megan seems to agree. "Stop staring Curt. For Christ sakes you leave a giant hickey on Lauren's neck and the next day you are flirting with her friend."
My hand shot up to my neck. What the hell happened last night?
"Sweetie it's too late to try to hide it." Megan teases, but I find none of this funny.
Daniel and Curt give each other a high five and I feel like I'm going to vomit. "Do not flatter yourself. I was wasted."
"So you guys drank again last night?" All eyes went to Kacey.
I try to avoid looking at her. I'm still mad she blew me off, but also embarrassed because she probably thinks I'm a hoe.
"Yeah. We first watched the special on Austin." Megan answers her. I look over at her and she looks fidgety. "After we went to drink. Lauren was the only one who got wasted. I blame her anger."
