[POSSIBLE PROOFREADING ERRORS]
saturday. the day ive been oh-so desperately waiting for. but today was started at the bookshop.
it was 9:30am. elizabeth was supposed to be here by now. i get shes a part timer, but i pay her, so i expect her to be here on time, earlier even.
the bell jingled, as the old wooden doors hinges creaked open. i was ready to scold elizabeth with all my might, but when i looked up i was met with your big, brown doe eyes. you gave a small wave, and your eyes crinkled into a smile.
"a little early for our date isnt it?" you chuckled at my joke.
"i just couldnt wait to see you until tonight." i smirked(and honestly, i hate doing this, but your reaction was quite to my liking) and continued labeling the books.
"so.. how was the agatha christie novel?" you pulled it out of your bag, oh that bag of yours. a large beach bag, sunkissed and threaded with a flower design. i wonder if you did that.
you waved the book in the air, a bookmark near the end of the book.
"very good. gives me chills at night." i nodded, smiling. at night huh? i wonder if you think of me.i looked behind you, at the door to see if elizabeth was coming in yet.
"where is that girl.." you cocked your head sideways. "elizabeth?" i nodded.
"she was supposed to come in at 8:50 already.." i trailed off, looking at my watch. you looked a little frustrated, angry even.
"i already took care of her, so stop worrying.." you muttered under your breath.
"what was that?" i asked. you shook your head and brushed it off as nothing.
"now, no more of elizabeth, lets focus on you." i grinned. your face seemed to brighten up at that comment.
"you are almost done that agatha christie novel, so lets find you something new." i led her downstairs, unlocking the basement door.
the LED lights crackled in the box. i pulled a few old classics from the shelf in the corner.
"this is a good one. a classic." i handed her a copy of pride and prejudice. she inspected the book curiously.
"what is this place, anyways?" she said, her eyes trailing to the glass box in the back.
"mr. mooney likes to keep the originals in tip-top shape." i led her to the air conditioning.
"not too warm, not too cold. to keep the books crisp." she nodded, looking around the basement.
"lets get that book checked out, shall we?" i said, needing her to leave before she could find
traces of benji.i left the basement, you following close behind.
you handed me the novel at the counter, and i scanned it. i handed it back and before saying the price, you had already brought out your debit card.
i chuckled, swiping the card and handing it back to you with the book.
"i will see you tonight!" you said, smiling.
i merely nodded and grinned back.
wear something nice!" you yell as you walked out the door.i will wear something nice.
you better do the same.[SORRY FOR THE SHORT CHAPTER!! THE NEXT WILL BE A LONG ONE I PROMISE!!]
