"I- I can explain everything-" He pulled me in close, as if I was about to disappear. A smile formed on my lips, and I brought a finger to his. "Its alright. I'm fine with it.. as long as you'll be mine. Forever." His eyes widened, before he planted his lips on mine. A few passionate kisses later, we pulled back for breath. Our anniversary wasn't anything extraordinary. We went to the beach, had a picnic there at lunch and ate some icecream, went on some rides at the pier and finished the night with going to a nice restaurant. We headed back to my place to watch a movie, but I had other intentions. I needed to lay all my cards on the table, except for one.
Joe is definitely special. Joe grew up with his mom and his dad. Not a very good home to grow up, though. His mother loved him, his father neglected him. He obviously became protective of the one person who loved and cared for him. So when his father hit his mother, he shot him. Joe feels like a hero, saving his mother and now the evil bad guy is gone. Soon after, his mother puts him in the orphanage. Saying she "isn't fit to care" for him.
Fast forward some time and Mr. Mooney adopts Joe. Hence the shop he works at. I'm not exactly sure of what went on during his teenage years, but I know it wasn't good. Anyways, Joe thought Candace was dead and he killed Beck. He's crazy. Not that I don't mind, but from what I know, he's had this idea of a perfect woman for so long (his mother) that all he wants is someone caring and nice and able to protect him and accept his past doings. If I tell him I killed his assistant, he'll kill me. Or worse, break my heart. I'm ready to set all my cards on the table.
I pulled off my coat and handed it to him and he hung them on the coat rack. I heard the tv click on as I grabbed some snacks. I then sat down beside him and he layed his head on my lap. I reached for the remote and paused the tv. "What's wrong?" He said looking up at me, before getting up. He met me at eye level, clearly concerned. I knew it was fake, but the thought was cute.
"Joe.." I held his hand in mine, "I need you to be completely honest." He nodded. "You killed Caine, right? And Beck." His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. After a moment of silence, he broke it and spoke. "How- how did you find out?" He said, breathlessly. "Candace." He scowled and I chuckled at his frustration.
That was 15 years ago. We tied the knot a few months later. We had to. We were made for eachother. Now, over those 15 years.. a few things have happened. I have two sons and a daughter now. Our oldest's name is Thomas. He's turning 15 next year. He's a handsome little thing, got that from his father. My daughter, Emily is turning 13 in May. Her eyes are hazel 'like her beautiful mother's' Joe says. My youngest, Finn, is 9. Hes got dark brown hair and hazel eyes, a combo of the two of us. We're a quaint little family in the suburbs(we decided that the city was too loud for us)and we intend to keep it that way.
Unless, the kids decide otherwise. But, thats really not our choice.
It's the end of our story, and time for theirs.
The End.
