My name is Y/N, Y/N L/N. And I know that I've never been lucky in love. Okay, that was a very bad starter. Actually, its not my fault. My heart has been monitored ever since I was 14. I've been kept in a facility for as long as I can remember, courtesy of my father. And everyday, a man with a mask brings me food, water and....other people.

They hope I fall for one, but the longer I've been here, the less I fall for them. Each one never comes back. It's not like they wanted to hurt me, it's science and I respect that.... Even though they've put me through cheating, abuse, break up and being dumped. Some experiments are more painful than others and it hurts..but I'm not mad, they wanted to know what physically happens to the heart during heartbreak.... And I've agreed to be their lab rat... I've tried to be compatible to make my father happy, to make him proud of me, in hope I can leave this wretched place...but nothing ever happened. Until today.

I was woken up by someone shaking me. "Go away, I'm sleeping." I rolled to one side. "I guess you don't wanna leave then." My father's voice shakily chuckled
"Father?! I can go?!" I jumped up, Finally! After 6 years!
"W-well, for a limited amount of time...The head scientist said that if we let you out, we could get more results."

"How long." My heart dropped, no no no, why a limit?!
"5-6 years...." he stuttered, choking back tears
Five to six years?! That's amazing! "Thank you Father! Thank you thank you!" I squealed, jumping up and down, barley able to contain my excitement .
"It's fine...just, be safe okay? It's dangerous out there, and...well, you're not exactly strong..." He took me by my shoulders and stared into my eyes "I got it dad. I'll be fine." I smiled, Hugging him

"First, you need to change. I'll leave you be, just call when you're finished." And he left
I smiled to myself, finally! Five to six years without experiments! Without social contact being forced upon me! I couldn't be happier. As I walked towards the front door my father stopped me. "We will be monitoring your heart. If anything happens, we'll know. Just remember I love you Y/N" he embraced me as if for the last time. Odd, Father usually wasn't the kind to give out hugs that easily. I hugged back and laughed "Dad! I'll be fine! I promise. You don't need to worry! Ill call you!" I said waving my phone.
(A/n: you can choose what clothes you wear, also, you're 5'4" sorry if you're taller! Just bare with me! 对不起! '^^)

My first steps in the outside world. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light, but once i could see again, I took a deep breath and appreciated the summer breeze, turned around- and I bumped straight into a man wearing a black T-shirt bearing the letters NATO.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!" I apologised, my heart beating faster and faster, my breathing growing heavier and heavier, my senses becoming hypersensitive. Damnit. First thing I do outside the institution is bump into someone, then have a panic attack! Wonderful! He turned to me and asked "you okay kiddo?" It took a while for my breathing and heartbeat to cease, and when I calmed down immediately I noticed something different about him.

I mean, the only other people that I had seen and met were my father and his group of scientists. But first off, he had what seemed like a flag on his face. And second, no one else seemed to notice him. His eyes widened and he then gasped
"You can see me?!"
"U-um yeah? Why are you so surprised?" I asked, cocking my head to one side
"N-no reason! H-hey, I've never seen you around before, and I know practically everyone here in New York."
"New York?" I asked, confused
"You don't know what New York is?"
"Of course I do! I just didn't know I was in that specific city."
"Well, that's kinda weird."

"I guess? I was never really allowed outside my house, sickness I guess."
"Aw, that sucks, the outdoors is pretty sick."
I nodded. "I had a kinda depressing childhood. Well! My name is Y/N! What's yours?"
"America."
"Isn't that a country name?"
"Well, it's also my name."
"Cool, well I gotta get going! See ya Meri!"
I turned around and started walking. I breathed a sigh of relief, that encounter could have been a LOT worse.

I walked towards a patch of green with tall trees, ah, what a beautiful place! I love it!
I settled down next to a shady oak, smiling too myself. This would've been a nice place to hang out.
Suddenly a man sat next to me, he looked...human, not painted.
'Hm, that's weird, what do I say?' I thought, panicked.
I then stuck out my hand "hello! My name is Y/N!"
No answer.
"Hello?"
Still no answer.

For some strange reason I decided to poke him, to see if he was alright- HOLY SHIT! MY FINGER WENT THROUGH HIM!
'W-what's going on?!' I leapt up, panicking and breathing heavily.
"Why can't people hear me?! Wait, that America guy! He could see and speak to me! I gotta find him!" I realised aloud.
I dashed back towards the town square.
"America?! America! Hello?!" I sprinted through multiple people, repeatedly saying sorry, almost forgetting that they can't see or hear me.

"Hm. It's weird to see a human having the same symptoms as us." a deep masculine voice said from behind me. I could tell from his tone, he was amused. I flipped around to see another man with a face like a flag, except his face was striped with a fluffy Deer stalker hat
"You can see me?! You can hear me?!" I reached out and touched his face.
"And I can touch you! Oh my god! That's wonderful!" I leapt up and hugged him, then realising that he was much taller than me. I looked up at him,

"Please get off me." He said with a hint of red on his face.
"O-oh! My bad!" I stuck out my hand. "Ahem, lets start over. My name is Y/N! What's yours?"
He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his big fluffy jacket,
"Russia."
"Oooh! Are you a country too? I met America earlier! I was wondering if you could take me to him!"
I looked at him with huge puppy dog eyes, begging him silently to help me
Russia sighed as if i was asking him to donate a kidney or something.
"Fine. I'll do it." He reached out and grabbed my hand. "Cmon I don't have all day." He snarled

"Okay! Let's go!" I sang, clutching his arm.
His face was dusted with a light red and he chuckled, "alright Y/N lets go. Actually, do you mind if I call you N/N?"
"Sure! Why not? I've never had a nickname!" I hummed, skipping alongside his long strides. One of his strides were three of mine, so it was sorta hard for me to keep up.
I began humming the tune to a song my dad would sing to me when I was younger.
"What song is that? It sounds interesting." Russia looked down at me
"Oh! Well I think its a old British folk song? Nymphs and Shepherds I think it's called. My mom used to sing it..um" I looked down at my feet

"Well, your mom has a nice taste in music, it's a nice song." He said, densely
"Oh, we're here."
"Ah! Okay. Thank you, by the way!" I hugged him
"I don't know what would have happened if you didn't find me." I mumbled, a little flustered
"Its fine, I'm always happy to help. Now, Let's go inside."
The door opened with a creak

"Welcome back Russia kun!"
