Chapter 23

America and Japan were chatting about something I really didn't care about enough to contribute.
They were probably talking about anime or something related.
I was halfway between dozing off and my eyes were half lidded. I had my head rested on my hand as I leaned on the door
"-and I think that Russia might be at my dad's house, he's probably looking over the footage."
I immediately snapped out of my half asleep posture and stared at America in a state of shock and horror, my mouth gaping
"Oh god."
"What is it Y/n?"
"Oh god oh god oh god."
"Y/n are you alright?!"
"Russia! He shouldn't!"

Terror tugged at my heartstrings and my breathing quickened by a significant amount
"Is he with UK right now?! Shit, shit, shit!"
"I don't know, he might be. He called me ten minutes ago telling me that. I think he might be on the way to Dad's-"
"I need to call him."
I pulled out my phone and dialed Russia's number

My heart began to thump quicker and quicker
My chest felt like it was about to explode.
"Y/n what's wrong?!"
America asked, staring at me, then glancing at the road every few seconds so he wouldn't crash the car
I dialed Russia's number again

"Y/n, I don't understand, what's going on?!"
"Japan found a piece of audio placing the blame on Russia. But I truly believe, no. I know he isn't the one to betray us. And once UK hears it he'll probably jump to conclusions and he'll lock RuRu up and-"
Japan placed a hand on my shoulder
"Calm down, try to think clearly."
I shook him off me
"No! Get off! I need to make sure Russia is okay!"

I took a deep breath to calm myself, just like Japan had said, and dialed his number one last time

"Привет?"
"Oh thank god! RuRu are you okay?! Where are you?!"
"On my way to UK's house. Why?"
"Don't! Don't go! Please!"
"Excuse me?"
"Don't go! For me! Please, come to South and North's house instead. Please!"
"The fuck..? Why would I do that? I've already arranged to meet UK. He's waiting for me and I'm pretty curious about the recording..."
"Japan has a copy! He'll show it to you! Just...please...don't go...."
There was a extended pause
"Fine. I'll turn my car around and meet you at the Korean brothers house. Happy?"
"Yes! Oh my lord! Thank you so much! I'll explain to you why as soon as we meet! Thank you!"
"Okay then. See you there Sunflower."

And with that he ended the call.
I had a huge, goofy grin plastered across my face.
Beaming from ear to ear
"Have you finished your panic attack?"
America asked with a monotone voice. It slightly scared me how nonchalant he was acting about the whole situation.
I nodded, giddy with pride and happiness at how I had just saved Russia from imprisonment and being wrongly accused of being the perpetrator.

America and Japan glanced at each other, then to my complete and utter surprise, japan sighed.
"You might have just saved Russia Kun from being brought to justice."
My facial expression turned to horrified
"What...?"
"America Kun  and I have been talking...Well, a lot of evidence has been pointing towards Russia Kun...."
"W-what?!"
"Y/n, what we're trying to say is. Russia is most likely the traitor. The one that chose to betray us for his own selfish reasons."
America shrugged. Showing no emotion except boredom and annoyance.
"Japan, you were literally just saying, how you thought Russia isn't the culprit!"
Japan's face turned from sympathetic, to ashamed
