15. The dementor

Jessica's POV
We walked trough the train looking for an empty compartment but we couldn't find one, after a while we found a compartment it wasn't empty but it would have to do. There was a man fast asleep in the corner I sat on the couch acros from him when Harry asked 'who is he?' I saw Hermoine look up at the suitcase rack so and she said 'proffesor R.J. Lupin', then ron said 'how is it she knows everything?'I snickered and said 'its on his suitcase Ron' ron then asked 'What do you rekon he is going to teach'. I didn't know but I had a hunch then Hermoine said 'defence against of course it is the only possition that's open'. I looked at the case again thinking, I knew I had heard that name some where. I looked at the man again there was something familiar about him. I had apparently zoned out for a few minutes because Harry said 'Jessie are you okay?' 'Hmm yeah just thinking' I replied. Then Harry said 'I need to tell you something' to Ron and Hermoine. He told them about Sirius Black being after me and Harry. Hermoine and ron looked very shocked and Ron said 'bloody hell'. 'But then you both shouldn't go looking for trouble this year' Hermione said, Harry replied with  'we don't go looking for trouble, trouble usually finds us' I nodded in agreement.

Having a proffesor in the Compartment proved to be useful, because after a while Draco Malfoy entered. He started taunting all of us and I was slowly getting angry when he noticed the sleeping figure in the corner of the compartment, 'who is that?' He asked. Ron replied in a snide tone 'it's a new professor''. Draco looked at the professors again, turned around and walked away with Crab and Goyle following him closely.

After about 15 minutes the compartment opened again 'anything from the trolley dears' the old lady asked. I bought 2 chocolate frogs and a pak of fudge flies while Hermione tried to wake up the Professor. 'Let him sleep dear, if he wands anything when he wakes up I'l be in the compartment of the driver' the trolley lady said.

We ate our sweets and talked when suddenly the train started slowing down. 'We can't be there yet' Hermoine said we all nodded in agreement. When the train had fully stopped ron looked out of the window and said 'there's people coming on the train'.     Then suddenly everything went cold the compartment door opened and a hooded figure came in I feld a painful sting shot through my wings and then I heard something I had been hoping to forget:

my mum and dad screaming "can we say goodbye to Jessie" "stay strong little angel" and an agonising scream from me.
Then everything went black.

I woke up and immediately felt tears stream  down my face, that memory of my parents is something I didn't want to relive. 'What's wrong Jessica?' Professor lupin asked. 'I-I heard my P-Parents, t-the last w-words they' but I couldn't continue. 'Here eat this it whil make you feel better' professor lupin said. I look him in his eyes and I suddenly had a flashback.

It was Halloween morning 1981 and dad had Just taken me downstairs for breakfast. 'You know who is Coming today' dad asked. I shook my head, 'uncle Remus' he said. 'Jay uncle Moony' I cheered. After 30 minutes the doorbell rang and I raced dad to the door, I won and flew a few inches into the air to reach the door handle I opened the door handle and screamed: 'UNCLE MOONY' I flew right into his arms and we hugged 'hi little cub' he said. We played for hours together, after a while I sat tired in his lap, I traced the scars on his arms and face 'I luv you uncle Moony' I said yawning and I heard him reply softly 'I love you too cub' before falling asleep.

Uncle moony' I said finally understanding why he seemed familiar, where I had heard the name before. The mystery presents I got every year at my birthday and on Christmas day. 'What?' Harry said. I was still looking at the man and asked him 'Uncle Moony?' He looked at me warmly and said 'hi little cub' I jumped up hugged him while muttering 'thank you'. Then we were interrupted by Hermoine asking 'I'm sorry but could you tell us what is going on?' We broke apart and remus started explaining 'I was very good friends with Jessica's parents and was an uncle to her, But as her parents went missing and she was adopted by Dumbledore I couldn't really go and visit her anymore' 'but he does send me birthday- and Christmas-presents, they always came with a letter which was signed by someone named Moony and I confronted Professor Dumbledore about it once, he told me moony was the nickname of one of me parents best friends and that his full name was Remus Lupin' I said. Hermoine, Harry and Ron looked shocked then Harry asked 'did you know my parents as well?' 'Yes Harry, your parents and Jessica's parents were my est friends' remus replied, 'I knew you as well when you were a baby, I would have send you presents as well but I didn't know where to send them too' he continued in a sad voice. 'It's okay you couldn't Have sent them by owl anyway Iived with muggles' Harry said. We sat down again an talked, after a while I was tracing the scars on remus' arm a few minutes later I had fallen asleep my head resting against remus' shoulder. 'I love you little cub' he whispered in my ear so soft that the others couldn't hear.

I woke up in a carriage Still leaning against remus Apparently he had carried me into the carriage. I looked up at him and he smiled, I smiled back. It really was good to see him again, especially with my dad running around. I hugged him and said so that only he could hear 'I love you uncle Moony'.
