When I woke the next morning I could hear loud chatting outside. I rolled over to see that Alex had already gotten up. The chatter got too much for me and I forced myself to get up.
Everyone was outside crowded around May. They were yelling questions at her. "Why are you here?" "Are you evil?" "DO YOU LIKE COOKIES?" "Come on guys, leave her alone," I said loudly. They all scattered, going about their own jobs.
"Sorry about them," I said to May. "It's ok, they're fun!" She answered. "Do you have any family?" I asked. "No, I've been alone for months," she answered sadly. "It's the same with us, but Alex has Kate," I said "I'm sorry if I hurt you, last night," I said. "It's fine, I heal quickly," she replied.
There was an awkward silence that seemed to go on forever.

May stood up and walked over to where Dani and Beth were chopping down a tree. Alex came over and sat beside me. "That went well!" he said sarcastically. "Shut up!" I growled. "Jesus dude, I was only messing," he said. "Do you think I have a chance with her?" I asked. "NOPE!" He yelled. "No seriously," I pushed. "Dunno, like I know you like her... But she may not like you," he said. I swore under my breath. Alex thumped me on the back, "You'll be fine," he said and he walked away, leaving me to think...
