The burning numbed my body until I couldn't feel anything. I could hear Alex calling me but I couldn't answer. I tried to use telepathy to tell him where I was, but I was too far away and I couldn't contact him. I waited...

Hen I woke up everything was buzzing around me. We seemed to be in some kind of abandoned hospital. Beth came into the room. I opened my one eye that wasn't swollen shut. "Ssup?" I said hoarsely. She burst into tears, "Thank you so so much," she sobbed. "Hey," I said, she looked into my eyes, "Stop crying."

"But you're hurt and it's my fault," she said. "It's not you're fault, and look I'm fine!" She looked confused. I lifted my head, which caused a load of pain, and liked in the mirror at the bottom of the room. I looked like I had been hit by a truck! "I'm fine, I'll heal quick, just watch," she hugged me and left.

Alex passed her in the hall and walked in. "How you doin'?" He asked. "You look like you've been hit by a train!" "Oh, I can always count on you to tell the truth at the worst moment possible," I said. We both laughed. "Barney says its gonna take a few days until you heal, so we're stayin' here," he explained. "And where is 'here' exactly?" I asked. "It's an old hospital not far from where the fire started," he said. He turned and left, leaving me unable to move and alone...
