Our Destiny (Lily Potter and Scorpius Malfoy)
Chapter 8: It Smells Like Trouble

"You imbeciles! You useless squibs!" Layla screams at her followers, as she finds out about their failure.

"You couldn't murder some stupid mudblood children and their useless muggle parents!" she screams in rage, death spells shooting out of her wand. The Death Eaters are trying desperately to avoid them, but some just aren't that lucky. They are trying to run through the woods, but there is an invisible barrier that they can't cross. So they keep tumbling on dead bodies of their fellow followers and hoping they won't join them anytime soon.

"Madame, please!" a man shouts out, pleading and she looks at him like he was a dirty cocroach.

"Avada kedavra," she hisses, her snake-like tongue coming out. Her anger slowly starts to tune out and the Death Eaters stop running around crazily. "Malfoy!" she then shouts and he slowly steps forward, shaking with fear.

"Y-Yes Madame?" he bows at her. His face is scrunched up in disgust under the mask.

"Grow a spine, you fool! What happened? Why didn't you succeed in getting rid of the muggles on Platform nine and three quarters?!" He thinks what to say to her. It must be convincing or she won't believe him.

"It was the aurors, Madame. I think Harry Potter overheard me talking to Nott the other day. They were expecting us," he lies. She screams in rage.

"My followers!" she speaks up. "Today we start to tear down the Ministry. Day by day, brick by brick, we will have it all for ourselves. And then we shall kill off the mudbloods that polute our world. Are you with me?"

The Death Eaters scream 'yes' as one and start to howl excitedly. It's time to bring their era back again.

Walking to breakfast feels surreal. Like she's dreaming. Her stomach is full of knots that she knows she can't untangle until she apologizes to her brother. And swallowing her pride is a hard thing to go along with.

"You can do this, Lily. Just be kind and gentle," Roxanne comforts her as they step through the doorway and she takes a deep breath. Alright. She'll make this work.

She heads towards the Slytherin table alone and lets her friends wander off to their schoolmates. The Slytherins are looking at her, some in shock, some in disgust, some are even amused. She chooses to ignore them all, because she didn't come all this way for them.

Towards the end of the table she finally spots the messy black hair she was looking for. The knots tighten themselves and she must again take a deep breath. She feels like there's an anchor tied around her waist, sinking her closer and closer to the ground.

Then she notices a light haired head next to her brother and she stiffens. Can she really do this with him by his side? She bites her lip nervously and decides to turn around at the last moment. But thanks to her luck, she's already spotted.

"Lily?" she hears someone say softly. Sighing, she stops in her tracks and turns around slowly. They are both looking at her, including a few other boys around them. Come now you brave Gryffindor, you got this, she tells herself.

"A-Albus, I am so sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean to lash out on you, it's just-" His raised hand makes her shut her mouth immediately.

"You are making a mistake here. I'm not the one you should apologize to," he says quietly, but the disapproval in his voice can be heard clearly. She stares into the green eyes he inherited from their father and avoids meeting another pair that is already looking at her.

"No, I should be the first to apologize," Scorpius Malfoy suddenly says, standing up. She finally looks at him, shocked at the sorrow in his eyes. People are already starting to turn their heads, but not only the Slytherins. Half of The Great Hall is staring their way. Great, as if we need any more attention, Lily thinks to herself. "I am sorry for what I've done, I didn't want to hurt you." She nods shortly.
