Author's Note: In this one, they didn't meet when they were 15 and 16, but maybe 5 and 6. Also they're about 8 and 9.

The bell just rang allowing everyone for dismissal. Casey was walking home with Raph, hs best friend since kindergarten, and his brothers, as he normally did. They'd usually just talk to each other, and occasionally play a game. This time they were playing tag. The rules were they couldn't leave the range that doesn't take them home. That meant they could go anywhere, a long as they'd still know exactly where they were going, and it would take them home. Right now, Casey was it. He didn't entirely like that, since Raph was faster than him. But he loved a bit of a challenge. They were running down the street, Raph trying to get away from Casey and Casey trying to get closer. Raph laughed softly, a small smile playng on his face. Of course, the little red-head decided to rebel the rules, and he took a sharp turn to the right. Casey stared after him in shock. "Raph!" he called, frustrated. His brothers stayed behind, knowing he'd show up eventually. Casey ran faster, making the same turn Raph did. There wasn't really anybody's property back there, but he stll didn't see why he'd go back there. It was pretty much just a couple of alleyway. More like walkways to get to the next couple of blocks. And at night, gangs and muggers went there to get drunk and even more insane. Lucky for them, it was only 3:30 in the afternoon. When he turned the corner, he pauses. Raph was nowhere to be found. "He must've turned to the second one," he muttered. He keeps himself slowed to a walk, keeping his breath steady. Half way through the first alley, he heard a small yelp, followed by a muffled crack. "Raph?!" Casey calls, concern and worry in his voice. He runs towards the sound, leading him to the end of the second alley. He caught Raph holding his ankle, trying not to cry. "Dude, you alright?" Casey asked, walking up to him and putting a hand on his shoulder. Raph shook his head, a tear trickling down his cheek. He looked down at his hands, still clutching his ankle. Casey touched his hand lightly, but Raph quickly jerked them away about an inch. "Come on, just let me see it," he says, annoyance in his tone. He sighed, slowly removing his hands. He refused to look at it, but he knew it was bad when he saw Casey's expression full of horror. It was black, blue, and a little red, also with a small dent. He was no doctor, but he was pretty sure that's not normal. He looked right into his bright green eyes, "Can you walk?" Raph put a hand on his shoulder, hoisting himself up. He yelps again, quickly jerking his foot up, "Nope." The two of them sat down on the cold, gravel ground. "How'd you break your ankle?" he asked. Raph looked at him questioningly, "What are you talking about?" Casey pointed to his right foot. "Your ankle. It's broken. What happened?" he asked again, more sternly. Raph shrugged, "I just tripped. Wasn't paying attention, and I tripped. I guess it was more the landing that hurt." They sat in silence a few more seconds, unsure of what to say. He wrapped his arm around Raph's shoulders. "Need help?" he asked. Raph shook his head, "No. I think I've got it." He stood up again, trying to walk. He limped 2 inches before Casey didn't give him another option. He put an arm under his knees and on his back, lifting him up. He pulled him close to his chest, both blushing slightly. "There's no way I'm letting you walk on that ankle," Casey said sternly. Raph pouted, looking away from Casey and crossing his arms. "I'm not helpless, you know," he said, shifting his weight in Casey's arms. Casey rolled his eyes, a small grin on his face. And that day he realized, he fell in love with his best friend.

Author's Note: Was it good? I felt it was a little too fast....
