"Go help Bailey! I'll help Katy, Go GO!" Miss shouts, gesturing over towards them. I looked over at Katy one last time and bite my lip, worrying like hell. Oh Katy. I run over to Esther, rubbing my forehead. "Esther?" I whispered. Except nobody could hear me because of the noise. Bailey was carrying her but I could see him struggling. "Pull yourself together Bailey for god's sake, you look like an old man," I attempt to say this seriously but I can't help a smirk. Bailey sticks out his tongue, obviously offended.

"Esther stay with us," I say shaking my hands. Miss and Katy were gone now. I scanned the horizon and looked over to Bailey and Esther again, Bailey, by now, was struggling completely. "Hey?! Girl who told me to help? Why can't you?" I felt like slapping his fricking FACE. "I'm sorry Bailey but can you shut your face, we need to get Esther down! Okay?" I growl. He tilted his head at me in anger. "Just HELP before I drop her?" he snaps back immediately.

I lift up Esther's legs, while Bailey is on the other end, struggling. "C'MON! MAN UP!" I yell. "I thought you were helping Katy with Miss!?" Bailey hisses angrily. "Mmmm, Miss said she could handle Katy herself and told me to help" I paused, looking at him. He had sweat pouring down his face. Suddenly, I felt awful. I dragged him into this, didn't I? "Hey, Bailey?" I ask.

He looks over at me, confused at the sudden softeness in my voice. "Yeah?" he hoists up Esther, who starts moving. "I'm sorry... Like, I kinda dragged you into this, if it weren't for me, you would be in a safe place where all the other pupils are... And I'm sorry for snapping at you constantly, it's just that I'm real worried for my friends..." I try to smile, but there's a lump in my throat. He opens his mouth to respond, but Esther is moving.

"Guuuuyyyyyyssss....." she murmurs, looking up at us."Esther!!!!" I practically scream. She manages a smile, and throws herself away from the two of us. "Esther?" Bailey said this uncertainty. "Yeah guys, I'm okay! Just in a state of shock.... My leg..." We all look down at her leg, part of her shoe's gone and there are burnt bits on her other shoe. "On the bright side you weren't injured!" Bailey tries to say optimistically. But my mouth and Esther's mouth hang open, we see red on the bottom part of her leg. Burns. Oh Esther.... I think.

"Look guys, I'm alright but..." she stops and stumbles, looking at Bailey. "What?" he breaks out, automatically rubbing his face as if he has something on it. "Nothing," Esther says quickly and falls onto him, he scoops her up again and I step forward to help.

"Where's your other friend?" Bailey says, breaking the silence. Esther and I both look at him. "What? Katy?" I said, running my hands through my hair. "No, Amber," That immediately catches my attention. Firstly, AMBEEERRR? Where are you? Second, Why does he want to know? "Well, she was obviously smart enough to get herself into a safe place but other than that, I'm not sure," Bailey nods.
"She is pretty smart," Esther and I immediately look at each other when he says this. Does he LIKE Amber? "Why do you ask anyway?" Esther and I both say simultaneously.

Then guess what? Bailey Adams, the guy I used to have a crush on, blushes. It takes forever to get through the corridor with black smoke in our eyes and noses but as we finally reach the stairs after what seems like half an hour, firemen reach us and guide us to safety. Oh thank god.
