"No! Let me just talk to her! What if she dies?"I yell dramatically at the security guard who is dragging me away.
"She WON'T die! She just has a few severe burns on her legs, okay? Now please, visiting times are over" a nurse nearby snaps angrily, gesturing at me to move out. Amber, meanwhile, was telling me softly to just wait and we'll be fine. I stomp out of the children's ward with Amber behind me. "This is JUST unfair! There were other visitors there aswell as us!" I groan loudly. Amber sighs. "People's parents are there Kayla! We aren't relatives to anyone!".
"Yeah but none of Esther's relatives are here yet, so why can't we replace them for like two minutes?" I ask.
Amber shakes her head. "Sorry Kayla, we aren't relatives... We have to go"
Amber. Always following the rules. "So is your Mum picking us up?" Amber asks. "Yeah... I'll text her," I say glumly. Amber looks at me. "We could go to the park down the road? It's sunny! THE ICE CREAM PARLOUR might be open! We could talk then?" Amber begs.
Amber. Always thinks about her ice cream. "Yeah sure, you can come to mine..." But I couldn't think straight. Katy... WHAT ABOUT KATY? "WHERE'S KATY?" I suddenly blurt. Amber turns around, slipping off her cardigan and looking at the sky. "She'll be alright. She will. A nurse said-" she stops. Why don't I ever pay attention? "Amber tell me!" I say. "I'll explain when we get to the park... The Ice cream will lighten us up I'm sure," Amber mumbles.

"This Ice cream is nice..." Amber say licking her chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. I already finished mine ages ago because I had a normal sized ice cream (I had one scoop of ice cream while Amber had three scoops).
"You and your ideas..." I say happily, swinging my legs. Amber stuck out her ice cream coated tongue. "Yes, I know I'm ace when it comes to cool ideas!" she says smugly. I laugh and suddenly wish I didn't eat so fast.
"So... Katy?" I say seriously. Amber looked up from her almost falling icecream. "Amber! YOUR ICE CREAM! I begin to say, but it already tipped and fell straight on the floor.
Uh oh. Amber stared at it. "Katy is...." and suddenly she started crying, tears pouring down her face. "I'll get you another ice cream..." I say quickly. She shook her head. "I don't want another ice cream.... It's Katy," she sobbed. Katy? "What? You said Katy was alright?" I say, my heart beginning to speed up. "She's in intensive care! Okay! Stupid intensive care!" she started crying all over again. "What is intensive care?" I say, confused. Amber glances at me. "A place where someone is in serious care, serious CARE!" She repeats.
I stare at her. "I.. I hope she's okay..." I whisper. Amber shakes her head. "I'm sorry Kay, but there's something I know and you don't." I look up. "What?!" I snap back into reality. "Well, when you went to get me a hot chocolate while we were in the waiting room. A nurse came to me..." WHAT?! "Well, what did this 'nurse' say?" I ask, my heart beating fast. She swallows.
"Kayla. She, she said... She's in a coma. A COMA." My eyes water slighty, I'm not crying. It's just a coma. People survive... RIGHT?
