it was sunday afternoon. nini was just in her room thinking about how crazy things were. tomorrow she would start junior year. just another year before senior year. the simple thought of that gave her chills.
she also couldn't help to think back on her other years in high school and notice that they were basically the same. you see, nini was the type of girl that would rather stay at home than go to a party. because of that, her freshman and sophomore years consisted on hanging out with her best friends ashlyn and kourtney. oh and also having a massive crush on ashlyn's cousin ej, who she had liked since the beginning of high school.
but the truth is, she didn't want that anymore. every movie and book that she had ever seen or read talks about how your high school years should be the best of your life. how they should be filled with new experiences, new friendships and even new loves. maybe this year could be different. this year has to be different. she thought to herself. she was determined to make the most out of this year.
but to interrupt her whole life revision, her phone buzzed.

now ricky's life was the opposite of stable. his parents were always fighting and he never knew when the last fight would be.
to add to that, he had also broken up with his girlfriend, well now ex-girlfriend, in the middle of the summer. it wasn't a tragic break up, in truth they were still really close friends, but it's still weird to have someone constantly on your life and then suddenly they're not there as much.
he knew it was for the best tho. him and gina, throughout the whole relationship, felt more like friends than boyfriend and girlfriend. they should've ended it way sooner, and they both knew that.
there was just one person who didn't quite get that.
