Poland (Feliks Łukasiewicz) x Reader

People moved throughout the large outdoor attraction and (Y/N) patiently waited for her friend to show up to their designated meeting place. The sun beamed down on her and she pulled her hat further down to block the sun from her eyes. She regretted leaving her sunglasses at home every second of the day. "(Y/N!)" A familiar voice called out. She looked up with a bright smile and enveloped her friend in a tight hug "Feliks." She pulled away and examined him "Why were you late?" Pink dusted his cheeks "Toris kept me busy." She nodded in understanding and flashed him a bright smile despite the pain in her chest "It seems you and Toris are getting along. Now, how about we enter the zoo?"

He grabbed her hand in excitement and pulled her toward the ticket booth "I want to see the horses." She chuckled and allowed herself to be pulled in by his excitement. They soon found themselves on a train around the zoo. Feliks rambled on and on about the animals he wanted to see, stating horses multiple times. The train ride stopped and (Y/N) jumped off the train with Feliks following close behind. They both looked down at the map to find out how to get to where they wanted to be.

Feliks grabbed her hand and easily escorted her to the cage. The sight of the horses sent Feliks into a fit of hyperactive rambling. (Y/N) watched the scene in amusement and made comments to egg him on. He turned to her with a bright grin "Aren't they magnificent?" She stared at him with loving eyes "They really are." Feliks remained oblivious to her feelings and turned back to the magnificent creatures once again. (Y/N) looked down at the map and Feliks peered down at the paper "How about the penguins next? You like them, right?" She nodded and he took her hand once again to lead her to the enclosure. Heat rushed to her face at the contact and she mentally reprimanded herself for her feelings.

They arrived at the penguin enclosure and all her feelings were neglected as she stared at one of her favourite animals. Feliks soon began rambling random facts about the animal and (Y/N) stared at him in amazement "How do you know all this?" He raised a curious eyebrow at her "Because you like them. A best friend knows everything about what their friend likes." (Y/N) nodded with tears forming "You're right Feliks." He smiled at her and continued to list random facts about the type of penguin in the enclosure.

The odd pair walked throughout the zoo in search of a place to eat that would satisfy both of their needs. They managed to settle on a simple diner and ordered their food when the waiter arrived. Feliks talked about random topics and (Y/N) absentmindedly listened. She mentally battled her emotions. She stared at one of her closest friends and couldn't help the speeding up of her heart, but she knew there was no hope for the two of them as a couple.

Feliks had been in love with Toris since they first became friends. Feliks had never looked at her the way he looked at Toris. She sighed and Feliks stopped talking "Is something, like, wrong (Y/N)?" She shook her head to clear her thoughts and smiled reassuringly at Feliks to calm him down "I'm fine. Just a bit lost in my thoughts. Why don't you tell me more about the new job you got?" Feliks observed her silently before nodding and explaining his new job. She listened this time, in order to ignore her annoying thoughts and feelings.

The sun was setting and they had managed to see most of the animals in the zoo after their lunch break. The pair waited at the entrance for their respective rides to pick them up. They stood in silence, both too exhausted to continue to converse with the other. A car pulled up to the zoo and (Y/N) felt her heart stop at the sight. Toris emerged from the vehicle with a small smile on his face. Feliks immediately grinned and ran into his arms.

(Y/N) watched the two interact and blinked away her forming tears. Feliks turned back to her with a smile "I had fun today. We have to do this again (Y/N)!" She smiled softly in return "We will." He turned back to Toris and chatted about the different animals in excitement. She sighed and leaned back against the wall. 'It's good enough to see him happy, even if I'm not the reason' she thought to herself, as Feliks entered the car and Toris drove away. Her ride arrived soon after and she remained in the passenger seat in silence.

Author's Note:

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's not the fluff that most people like, but I enjoyed writing a one-sided love thing.

Next one is China.
