Denmark (Mikkel Densen) x Reader

People shuffled off the airplane to pick up their baggage and (Y/N) followed behind them. Excitement coursed throughout her veins as she patiently finished the airports' procedure. She stepped out of the airport and took in the new sights. Her eyes landed on a blonde-haired male with bright blue eyes "Mikkel." He looked over at her with a bright smile "I came to personally welcome you to Copenhagen, Denmark." He grabbed her suitcase and led the way to his parked car. They settled themselves and he glanced at her "What would you like to see?" She gazed out the window to look at the passing scenery "I was hoping you could show me around." She looked over to gauge his reaction and smiled in relief. "Of course. I would love to be your personal tour guide. I do have a fee though."

She raised a curious eyebrow "Really?" He hummed in affirmation "2031 Danish krone." She paused to fake contemplate his offer "I'm not sure Mr. Densen. That seems quite high." He sent her a playful disappointed look "Surely it is a price you'd be willing to pay. Would you not pay that much to be with your best friend?" She turned his face away from her to look at the road "Perhaps. If that friend brings us to his home alive." He sent her a warm look and focused on driving.

Time passed by quickly as they brought each other up to speed on what they missed. Mikkel helped her with her luggage "Would you like to rest or head out?" (Y/N) sent him a playful grin "Did you really ask me that?" He rolled his eyes and chuckled "I guess we're heading out. Let me just gather my things." She nodded and placed her belongings in the spare bedroom as he scoured his house for his wallet and a warm jacket. They met up at the front door and (Y/N) waited patiently as he fiddled with his keys "What did you have in mind?" He placed his keys in his pocket and looped his arm through hers "We're going to head to the Tivoli Gardens." Her eyes widened slightly "Seriously?" He grinned and ruffled her hair "Of course. Only the best for the best person in the world." She smiled and clutched his arm tighter with a faint pink dusting her cheeks.

They walked the streets of Copenhagen in comfortable silence. (Y/N) took in all the sights she possibly could. Mikkel paid for the tickets and led her inside the large amusement park. "Do you want to start with the rides or the carnival games?" She didn't answer but instead pulled him into line for The Demon. Mikkel cast her a glance "Do you think you can handle it? People say this one is quite scary." She nodded "I can do it. If I get scared, I'll hold your hand." Mikkel nodded with a small smile. He tried to ignore the fluttering feeling in his chest.

They went on ride after ride and soon took notice of the sun beginning to set. "How long have we been here?" He looked down at his phone "About seven hours. Want to get something to eat?" She nodded and he led her to a small cafe called 'Cakenhagen.' She held back a smile at the name and followed him to a table. They ate their food with small conversation shared between them. "What are we doing tomorrow?" He munched on his food as he thought about the different places "Maybe the Strøget?" She nodded "Sounds good." She paid for the food and the pair wandered throughout Tivoli Gardens in search of the carnival games.

A little competition between the two broke out. The two competed to see who could win the most prizes by the time they ran out of money. Mikkel won by the end and she stared at her small pile of prizes in defeat. He wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulder and grinned brightly "If you'd like, you can take some of mine." She hesitated. If she agreed, she'd discard the little honour she had, but at the same time she really wanted the elephant "Ok." His grin grew in victory and he helped her carry the prizes back to the house.

The prizes were discarded in the living room and Mikkel walked her to her bedroom "I hope you had fun today." She smiled up at him "I did. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Though I'm not sure if I'll have enough money to do shopping tomorrow." He chuckled "Maybe we shouldn't have blown all our money on carnival games." An easy smile formed on her face "I wouldn't have spent this day any different. Thanks, Mikkel." She placed a soft kiss on his cheek and turned in for the night. A bright smile formed on his face and he whisper-yelled "Yes!"

Extra Notes

2031 DKK = 393.98 CAD = 295.17 USD (All approximate, things change over time)

Tivoli Gardens is wonderful, and I want to go there so badly.

I chose The Demon because it's said to be scary, so I thought they'd go on it.

Cakenhagen is a cafe with a little french twist, and honestly, I just picked it because the name was funny.

Strøgen apparently is a shopping centre in Copenhagen.

I hope you enjoyed this one. It was probably one of the most fun ones to write.

The next character is Estonia.
