Australia (Jett Kirkland) x Reader

Sharp pain shot up her left leg and (Y/N) silently cursed to herself. She looked down at the offending object and sighed in mild annoyance at the piece of Lego stuck to the bottom of her foot. Several pieces of Lego littered the floor and she carefully made her way through the disaster leading into the living room. Giggles and shouts of excitement floated out of the room and (Y/N) leaned against the doorframe to observe the scene. Jett stood with their six year old boy and girl in his arms with a large Lego tower in front of him. Their daughter reached out and placed a red block upon the tower with careful hands accompanied by a concentrated expression. The room remained silent as the final piece was placed on the tower, all attention placed on the red block. Three cheers echoed in the room and the twins enveloped Jett in a tight hug filled with excitement and eagerness. He laughed and tightened his grip on them for a moment "Are you guys ready?" They eagerly nodded and he placed them down to stand on either side of him with the tower in front of him "We're going to kick this down as hard as we can, in 3...2...1!" All three cried out and placed their best kick on the front of the tower. The Lego structure collapsed on the spot and the twins giggled as Lego piece flew around the room. Jett looked over at the doorframe with a bright smile and paused at the sight of his wife's expression "I can explain." The twins looked over and rushed over at her with happy smiles "Mommy! Did you see that?!" "I did" she said, crouching down to pull her children into a tight hug with a smile "It was really cool! Did dad come up with the idea?" The two pulled away and shared a quick look.

She watched the twins mildly confused. Their son shook his head "It was dad's idea to build the tower, but we said we wanted to kick it down." "Is that true?" She asked, turning to look at her daughter. She fidgeted under her mothers' gaze but nodded "It's true." She glanced up at Jett to notice him smiling down at their children with pride. (Y/N) stood up with a soft sigh and ruffled their hair "Well I think that was a really awesome idea! Do you guys think you're hungry enough for lunch? I made you your favourites." Both children's eyes lit up and they raced out of the room in search of their favourite lunch. Jett crossed the room and pulled her into a loving hug "Am I in trouble?" "No, not at all" she replied, and leaned into his warm embrace to bask in the moment "I thought it was a fun idea. As long as the kids are happy, then I'm happy." He hummed in agreement and placed a quick kiss on her cheek before pulling away "Did you see that though?" "See what?" "That the kids lied to protect me!" He exclaimed, eyes filled with pride and she snorted and the childish glee "I did see that. Did you teach them that?" He shook his head and grabbed her hand to lead her out of the messy room. She kept her mouth shut about the mess. "They totally did it by themselves" he stated, "I've never been so proud." "I wonder if they'd do the same for me" she mused, "Probably not. The twins like you more." "Aw they love you lots" he exclaimed, and stopped walking to plant a messy kiss on her cheek which caused her to laugh and push him away "I'm just able to match their energy level and I think they like that. They like having someone to tire them out." (Y/N) hummed in agreement started making her way back to the dining room.

Crumbs littered the dining table and (Y/N) and Jett stared at the mess. The twins looked up from their sandwiches with peanut butter and jelly smeared across their cheeks. Silence loomed over the room until Jett broke and started laughing at their guilty expressions. (Y/N) sighed fondly and started laughing when they turned to stare at her. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down "How did this happen?" Their son swallowed the food in his mouth and glanced at the table in shame "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry too" their daughter piped in, both twins turning their gaze up to look at her with shame. She sighed to herself at the lack of an answer and turned to Jett "Can you handle it?" He nodded and scooped the twins into his arms "Time for a bath." The kids protested and pushed at him, but he kept a firm grip around their waist as he trudged towards the bathroom. (Y/N) smiled softly at the scene and began cleaning the mess on the table. She paused "I feel like I'm forgetting something." The mess in the bathroom only served as a reminder as to why she didn't allow Jett to bathe the kids.
