She's fine

"It is that important, huh. I just hope everyone's okay." Wendy looked down, trying to keep her usual cool self.

"Yeah...me too." Gideon replied not taking his gaze off Mabel. She was fighting the urge to let her tears flow. She so desperately was trying to withhold them and at the same time not show her friends the pain she was carrying.

Ten minutes later, Pacifica, Grenda and Candy showed up. "Sorry we're late guys!" Pacifica said running to the Jungle Gym with the other two behind her.

"Keep it down." Wendy said pointing at Mabel. "Is she alright?" Candy whisper-panted, trying to lick her melting ice cream from the Cone's side before it touched her fingers. Pacifica almost finished what left from her cone. And Grenda ate hers one minute after she bought it. Of course, she got a brain freeze, but didn't care. She gets them weekly.

"We think it's about the thing she called us for." Wendy answered still looking at Mabel.

Now everyone was staring at her, trying to figure out what was stressing her out so much. But neither of them have guessed even close to the real problem they were soon to be enlightened on.

"I'll go talk with her." Pacifica whispered to the group, waiting for their consent. Everyone nodded. She nodded back and turned around. She then took a deep breath and made her way to the brunette.

Pacifica stopped in front of Mabel. She somehow managed to keep her vision at the distance even though the blond was blocking it. Pacifica crouched down and Mabel finally looked at her. Then she jumped off the bench, startled from the sudden, or so she thought, appearance.

"When did you-" She started, but was cut off short from the realization that Gideon was no longer sat beside her. She looked around and saw him sitting at the top of the Jungle Gym beside Wendy. Then she noticed the other two girls, who were now seated under the tree next to the Gym. Everyone was staring at her, concerned for her mental state.

"Mabel, are you alright?" Pacifica asked, standing up and putting one hand on the brunette's shoulder. Mabel looked down. "Of course I am!" She said quickly, almost shouting, trying to convince everyone, especially herself that she indeed was.

"Why wouldn't I be? Everything is perfect. Just fine! I am fine. Everyone... is just fine." She continued fast, but slowed down at the last part, her voice not so high anymore. As if she was trying to whisper that part. And everyone noticed that it wasn't just because she was out of breath.

'Who is not fine?' The group thought in unison.

"Mabel." Gideon said. Mabel shot her head up and saw that her friends were all staring at her. She felt really uncomfortable and again looked at the very interesting grass and dirt she was standing on.

Everyone made their way to the bench. Pacifica made Mabel to sit back down and the others sat around her on the ground. "Take your time Mabel." Wendy said giving her a reassuring smile. Mabel, even though weakly and sheepishly, smiled back.

She took a couple of deep breaths. Looked each of her friends in the eyes, slowly moving her head towards the next in line, as if she was trying to memorize every inch of their faces. Each of them smiled brightly at her. Even though behind their smiles, they were trying to look through Mabel's and see what was she feeling at the moment.

"Okay." The brunette finally said, clapping her hands, trying to sound encouraged. "You better make yourselves comfortable...it's a long story."

One long story later

Mabel told them everything to the smallest detail. When she started talking out loud for the awful things that happened from the school year's beginning to today's morning, she started right away to tear up. She couldn't hold the tears in anymore, so she let it all out, not caring if she made herself look weak in front of her friends.

She told them how Dipper started to sleep at every given opportunity. How, if he wasn't sleeping, which was not often, he was drawing. He often went to school with no homework, but he was smart enough to do it at the last minute, which both of the twins were grateful for.

She then told them about the last week's events. And finally about what Stan shared with her and what he asked her to do.

"And every time I wanted to show him something, he told me one of you or the Grunkles already texted him or sent him pictures." She finished and waited for their reactions. Everyone looked at each other, not sure which question to ask first. They have been listening to Mabel carefully to not miss anything, and calmed her down when she was crying through out the story.

"But..." Pacifica started, winning all gazes to be narrowed at her. "Almost every time when I sent you something, I asked Dipper if you showed him too. Every time he said you did. He even made some comments over it." Pacifica stated, reading her texts with Dipper and showing them to the others.

Everyone else, except for Mabel pulled out their phones and showed the others the texts they had with the male brunette. They were all like what Pacifica said.

"I have no idea what that means." Mabel said at last, trying to think of a way to explain the mess they were all getting into. "Maybe he knows someone who told him these things?" Grenda suggested.

"All of them? We have sent so many pictures and said so many stories through the year. Most of them were only between us and there's no way an outsider may actually know about them." Wendy came to prove her wrong, even though her idea was good.

"Anyways guys..." Gideon stood up, dusting himself, and stepping closer to the bench. "Thank you, Mabel, for trusting us to tell us the truth. It means a lot. And we will support you whatever happens from now on. Right guys?" He asked looking around him, for everyone have stood up while he was talking. "Of course!" The others said in unison. They all smiled at Mabel who was still sat down.

She looked at the bright, encouraging faces, slightly being blinded by the afternoon sun, which was adding more effect to the scene. She started to tear up again and faltered to get up. Candy and Pacifica were fast to grab her by each arm for support in case she fell.

Then suddenly, Mabel jumped forward to hug her friends, that she so much loved. She almost tackled them all over, but Wendy and Grenda were there to save the day. They all wrapped their arms around each other in a tight hug and stayed that way for five minutes in complete silence. They let Mabel calm down and at the same time reassure her that they were there for her.

Meanwhile

Dipper and Ford have just returned to the Shack. Ford went right away in the living room and sat down at the table. Stan turned the TV off when he saw the look on his face when he opened the front door. Then he stood up and went to sit across his twin.

Ford told him in detail what exactly happened and what he wanted to do at his next going to the Woods.

Dipper had gone to the Attic and locked the door behind him. Then he laid down in his bed and covered himself with his blanket, not caring if he was going to bake under it, because of the hoodie he was still wearing.
