Someone else

Suddenly he collapsed to his knees and buried his hands into his hair, knocking away his hat. He started bawling, rocking back and forth, while pulling his hair. He lifted his head up and let out a scream caused by the pain that he so wanted to go away.

Bill, of course, did the most natural thing a stuck in another dimension demon would do.

He panicked.

He needed to think fast. Otherwise he was going to lose his only pawn. But what could he do while still trapped away from everything living.

"Pinetree, what are you doing?" He didn't know what to say to calm him down, so he tried to make him get back to work.

Probably not the best decision to make.

"Get up, kid. There's no time to waste." Bill said, with a little more demand in his voice. But Dipper was no way near calming down. It was as if he didn't hear the demon. So he tried extra measures.

He made Dipper feel the urge again. Then Dipper abruptly stood up, swaying a little, ready to fall back down any second. When red eyes met grey one, Dipper made the most stern face he could muster and managed to stutter out.

"I-I'm sorry Bill...but t-this has to stop."

Then he ran out of the basement.

What just happened left Bill baffled and he didn't seem to like it. He was about to lose his pawn.

"What?" He said under his breath, still trying to process the information that was shredding his brain. Dipper heard him say that as well as he heard the outburst that was about to follow.

"What in the living Hell do you think you are doing?!" He yelled so loud that Dipper tried to plug his ears out of reflex. Not that it helped much. After all, the voice was in his head.

"You want to bring me back, don't you Pinetree?! I trusted you with this and you just leave me in here to handle everything on my own??" Bill tried, once again to power up the urge as that was his last chance of making him finish what he started.

But Dipper, nonetheless, tried to ignore it, so Bill made it stronger. Oh, how wrong he did.

"Stop it!!" Dipper cried out as he walked through his shared room's door. "I had enough..." His voice broke to a whisper as if he was choking with his own tears, as he slumped down to the ground leaning onto Mabel's bed frame.

"Please...just....find someone else." He said more to himself than to anyone in particular. He didn't want to admit it, but those last words were like a knife piercing through his heart, while echoing in his head over and over again.

Bill heard that last words and saw the pain behind them. As he let the urge to subside down and closed his spyglass, he mumbled to himself.

"But you are the only one..."

("Plot Twist?! What is going on in here???" The Author exclaimed, trying to interact with the readers and gossip over their suggestions about the plot twist.)

In the morning

When the sun rose, Mabel's alarm went off. She jumped off her bed and swept her finger across her phone's screen so fast she almost knocked it off her drawer.

Dipper didn't notice his sister's actions before he felt as if something hit him in the stomach. He let go of his bunny he was holding the entire night and clutched his stomach. He lifted his head up and saw Mabel hovering over him, shaking him lightly and repeating his name softly.
