I woke up a few hours later in a completely different place than where I had fallen asleep. Someone must of moved me, after all, I had practically collapsed on the floor. Yawning widely, I sat up, just now noticing a woman in the room.
”O-oh...” I stared at her, kind of surprised I didn’t notice her before. She simply looked at me then left the room. Oh well. Slowly, I stood up, swaying a little as I was still kinda dizzy. Seems like I overdid it a bit.

I went to go find the others, rubbing my eyes as I walked down the hallway. Following their voices, I found them in a room with Kakashi. I stood in the doorway, to socially awkward to announce my presence. Finally Kakashi noticed me and motioned for me to join them.

“Akari. I’ve been curious for a while now. What exactly is your chakra nature? I’ve seen you use both wind and lightning.” Kakashi stared me down and I began to feel a little nervous. The others stared at me as well, probably just as curious if not more. I should’ve seen this coming.
”Cyclone.” I whispered, my voice portraying my anxiety. I fidgeted with my hands, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other. I was hoping maybe they would just leave it at that, but nooo they had to press me further.

”Really? And what exactly is a ‘Cyclone’ nature?” I stared at him, my lips pressed into a thin line. Figure it out yourself. Turning on my heel, I briskly walked from the room, leaving the house before anyone could stop me. I had already broken enough rules as it was. If they ever were to find me, if they were even looking, my punishment would certainly be a harsh one. But at least it would only be the one.

I headed into the forest, climbing up a particularly tall tree to get away for a while. When I was little, I always used to go into the forest when I was upset or avoiding something. It seems the saying ‘old habits die hard’ is pretty true after all.

A few minutes later I saw Sasuke below my tree, looking up at me impatiently. “C’mon we have training!” He yelled at me in an irritated manner. Probably cause he had to track me down. So impatient, geez. I made my way down the branches, purposely going slow. As though that would shorten my training time. As soon as my feet touched the grass Sasuke set off and I reluctantly followed him. I didn’t want to train, I needed to, but I didn’t want to.

Once we arrived Kakashi explained the training exercise, and surprisingly, gave us an example of what he wanted us to do. Climb trees without using our hands. Seems simple enough. Right? Wrong.

I ran at the tree, concentrating my chakra to the bottom of my feet. I made it up a few feet higher than I did the previous time before falling back down. If Eriko were here she’d so be saying ‘I told you to train. It’s not my fault you didn’t listen’. I sighed, Kakashi, along with Sakura, who had finished ages ago, had left already. Leaving me with Sasuke and Naruto alone. The two boys were busy trying to show each other up and it was honestly quite amusing to watch.

Looking up at my marks, I realized I was getting close. Maybe this time I would make it. Running at the tree, I focused solely on my chakra flow. As my feet touched the bark I kept the flow even as I raced up the tree. As I drew closer to the top, I started to feel a small twinge if excitement. Once I made it up I could go take a nap. Although, if this Gato dude were to send another ninja it might be best to train my Jutsus. Even if I could use my Jutsus it put way to much strain on my body. I needed to train.

Smiling I landed on the top branch, digging my kunai into the bark. I slowly made my way back down, deciding to actually follow through with my decision of extra training.
”See ya.” I called to Sasuke and Naruto, just to taunt them. I walked from the clearing, heading away from the town. I didn’t want to accidentally get any of the townspeople with my longer range Jutsus. I’m sure Kakashi would have my head if that happened.

Once I was a decent distance away I marked some trees for targets. I’ll start with the simplest Jutsu and work my way up.

I concentrated my chakra, focusing on the wind streams surrounding me. Cyclone Style: Charged Gale. The wind around me started sparking as electricity spread across the streams. There really wasn’t much I could practice without a real target so I just tried to hold it for as long as possible.

When I finally broke off the Jutsu I sat on the grass, panting. I really did need to train more often, this Jutsu used to be so easy. Oh well, on to the next one. I stood back up, giving myself a chance to catch my breath before continuing.

Cyclone Style: Paralyzing Impact. Electricity flooded through my hands and started to spark from my fingertips. This electricity wasn’t nearly enough to kill but it was certainly enough to paralyze. Running at the tree, I slammed my fist right in the middle of the X. As I did so, the tree cracked slightly as electricity ran through the bark. Oops.

I was starting to tire, one more tonight. Cyclone Style: Lightning Storm Laceration. The wind around me picked up as it began to take the shape of swirling blades. Electricity crackled as it coated the blades and soon about ten different swords had formed. I launched five of them one at a time towards the tree, aiming for the X. With each hit the tree splintered more, poor tree. Once I was done with the first five I took the others and used them all at once, coordinating them into a group attack. There was a lot of potential with this Jutsu.

Finishing up, I flopped on the ground, exhausted. Hopefully with enough training that wouldn’t be the case anymore. A few minutes passed before I realized I should probably head back to Tazuna’s house. I was missing dinner. Which was not like me at all.

Sighing softly, I stood back to my feet. Hopefully by now Kakashi will of forgotten his previous curiosity of my chakra nature.

I made my way back through the forest, paying little attention to where I was walking. Simply just heading in the general direction of the house. I blinked out of my trance as I heard the crackle of leaves being crushed. Looking up, I just narrowly avoided running a young boy over. He had shaggy black hair and I recognized him as Tazuna’s grandson. What was his name? Inari? Imari? Oh well, something like that.
“You know for a ninja your not very alert.” He stared at me as he said that, something that looked like a mix of sadness and anger lingering in his gaze.

“And you look very depressed for someone your age.” I continued on, only to stop when he threw a pebble at me. Turning back to face him, I narrowed my eyes. If he wanted my attention he could of just asked, geez.
”Go tell your friends to leave!” He demanded. “They don’t know what their getting into.” I snorted, shaking my head.

”Listen kid, let me get three points across. One, there’re not my friends. Two, I’ve wanted to leave since before we even started. Three, I’m not in charge of this squad. If you wanna complain take it to Kakashi.” And with that I spun on my heel and briskly walked away, muttering under my breath. Stupid kid, this was a mission. We can’t leave until it’s completed.
