In a cave in a galaxy light-years from our own and hundreds of years in the past sleeps a destructive dragon, Ulamoguth. Outside of a cave on a barren moon solidly stands and an astonishing army. Magnus mounts his pegasus and has a lance lifted to him. He lifts his shining shield and wields his lance. He flips the flap on his knight-like helmet. He masterfully turns his mount to face his army

"Today is the day we ultimately end the utter desolation of the monster know as Ulamoguth the Devourer of Worlds!" He announces full of courage and valor. The army roars like a football crowd.

"To battle!" They reply.

Magnus charges with a few other pegasus riders in similarly suitable attire. The army advances!

The chamber of the cave opens up. Ulamoguth's children, dragonkin, attack the army. The chamber fills with the sound of clashing blades. Magnus and the riders advance on Ulamog. Magnus concentrates and the tip of his lance glows a brilliant blue. They all plunge their lances into the beast closely followed by a volley of arrows. Ulamoguth roars up like a volcano, spewing black fire throughout the chamber. The riders are burnt to a crisp. But Magnus forms a shield of bright blue energy and is flung into the chamber wall. His helmet crumples onto the floor, blood dripping down his face, next to his mount burnt to a crisp. He gives it a final kiss on it's limp head. Glancing into the chamber both sides are devastated by the fire along with major casualties on both sides of the battle. Magnus unsheathes his sword, it reads "Thou shall posses infinity if thou is pure of heart". He wipes his nose clean of the the flowing crimson liquid. His surroundings glow a neon blue as the sword becomes fantastically fluorescent. He braces his legs for takeoff then releases soaring sword first swiftly at the devastating dragon.

The blade makes contact with the dragon's leathery scales slicing through her neck like butter spewing out black ooze all over the cavern. Magnus gives a small smirk off triumph as he hits an artery, but the battle wasn't over yet.  Ulamoguth lets out another roar of rage decimating both armies. Magnus plunges the sword deep into the dragon's vile flesh a second time spewing the black substance all over himself, his sword sizzling and smoking coated in the black viscous substance like BBQ sauce smothered onto a piping hot grill. He wrestles with the beast as she tries sink her teeth into Magnus. But he makes an expert maneuver which gets him on top of her her head.  With both hands he plunges his sword deep into her skull! She makes a final roar as the life drains from her body and she falls to the ground, her limp corpse drenched in black blood. An exhausted Magnus goes to check on his wounded and fallen troops with an air of unavailing victory. The wounded dragonkin flee at the site of their beloved mother on the cold floor dead as a cut of steak. Magnus finds few survivors, most either impaled or burnt to a crisp, but through the smoldering ashes he finds a handful of soldiers full of melancholy despair with only a minuscule hint of  triumph. This wasn't really a victory, Magnus knew this, but then again when did war ever result in victory.

Then penetrating the air of sorrow came a familiar voice tied to the feeling of trepidation.

"I would congratulate you Magnus but that collides with my intention." The voice announces.

Magnus faces away from the speaker continuing to wipe his sword clean. "What do you want Alexander, you were cast out and you were never permitted to be here." Magnus replies.

"Never permitted to be here! You'd expect me to allow you to murder my mother and not pay you a visit!" Alexander exclaims

"You betrayed us Alexander! Broke the oath as Infinity Guardian! And as for your mother she was a foul sinful slaughterer!" Magnus retaliates with now turning to face the armor clad devilish four armed scaly monster.

"You know it's not so black and white. But ultimately you murdered my mother and now you'll get what you deserve you self-righteous pedant!" Alexander spits with a sense of determined rage. He draws a similar blue blade but embellished with a different phrase "Thou who requires the means shall be granted the means" along with an arsenal of other blades, maces and axes in his other hands.

"If you are so fixed on your indispensable vengeance then so be it. But I will not play the dunce who impales the blade into themselves. I will fight with honour until one of us greets the abyss and the other towers over the corpse with praise of victory!" He shouts with uncertain confidence.

"Then you have chosen your fate." Alexander announces as their weapons clash.

Eventually after successive parries exhaustion gets the better of Magnus and Alexander's blade pierces Magnus' surprisingly fragile flesh. As the blood leaks down his dark stained armour he rasps "You didn't win and cannot win".

"Nobody wins in this universe, some lucky few just end up better off with a false sense of achievement" Alexander replies as he rips Magnus' head from his shoulders and leaves the cave compact with despair.
