A Big Decision

Cyrus POV

I wasn't sure what I should be thinking anymore. I was in a position that I had dreamed to be in, but now it was real, I wished I wasn't.

For the past year, I have had a crush on that dimpled boy, Jonah Beck. He really confirmed to me that I am gay, and when he told me he was bisexual, I thought it was going to be a match made in heaven.

Before I got around to asking if he wanted to go out with me, a spanner was thrown into the works. I was walking down a corridor when TJ approached me. We had become good friends, but he was becoming more clingy.

"Hi Muffin" TJ greeted "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine" I assured "Never better actually"

"So, have you got any plans tonight?" TJ wondered.

"No I don't" I responded.

"Would you like to come around to my house?" TJ asked "I thought it would be cool to hang out"

"Do you mind if I ask why you want me to come around?" I reacted "Surely there are better people to do that?"

"But you are cute" TJ complimented "And I would like to go out with you"

This took me by surprise, I never knew he felt that way about me. I have to say, I would be happy to go out with him, but at the same time, I didn't want to rush and miss a chance with Jonah.

"Thank you" I answered "Can I think about it? It's all happened so quickly"

"Yes of course" TJ agreed "I'll speak to you at the end of the day?"

"Sounds good to me" I stated.

He walked off to get his lunch, but before I could move, Jonah came up to me. He still made me melt with that smile.

"Hey dude" Jonah greeted "What are you up to tonight?"

"I'm going to be hanging out with TJ" I explained.

"TJ? Oh okay" Jonah replied, looking defeated "Not to worry then"

"No wait, what do you mean?" I wondered, grabbing his arm "Were you going to ask me something?"

"I was going to ask if you wanted to go on a date with me, at the spoon" Jonah commented "But if you already have other plans..."

I felt really guilty, because for the first time, I literally had two boys vying for my attention, but I didn't want to disappoint either of them.

"Meet me at the end of the day" I instructed "I'll let you know what my plan is"

"Deal" Jonah agreed.

I went to my next class, feeling even more awkward than before. I didn't know how I was going to sort this. Fortunately, I was able to speak to Andi and Buffy.

"How do you feel about them both?" Andi wondered.

"Yeah, which one makes your heart warm up?" Buffy added.

"They both do, that's the problem" I muttered "I don't want to let either of them down"

"If they truly love you, of course they'd be disappointed if you don't pick them" Andi explained "But the fact is, if they love you, they would be happy for you"

"That's so true" Buffy concurred "And for once Cyrus, be selfish. This is about your happiness, stop worrying about what other people think"

Talking to the girls really did clear everything up for me, so I waited patiently for school to be over.

When we finished, TJ and Jonah were both waiting for me. They looked happy to see me, and I hoped that wouldn't change.

"Hey boys" I greeted.

"Hey Cy" Jonah reacted.

"Hi Muffin" TJ responded.

"I've been asked by both of you if I'm free tonight, but I can only go with one of you"

"That figures" Jonah muttered.

"So, who are you going to pick?" TJ wondered.

"This has been a difficult decision, but I would like to go with you, TJ" I declared.

"Thank you" TJ replied with a smile on his face.

I was expecting Jonah to be angry, despite the fact I've never seen him angry. But as the girls said, Jonah smiled and hugged me.

"I completely understand" Jonah assured "You must follow your heart"

"You're my best friend, even if we don't get together" I pledged "You will always be my bestie"

Jonah smiled, before I walked off with TJ, feeling satisfaction that I hadn't actually hurt anyone's feelings and things looked as if they would work out for us.
