TJ had never meant to hurt anyone. He had always tried to be friendly, but he had no tolerance for anyone who spoke down to him.

Throughout his life, many of his old friends used to mock him for his dyscalculia. It would often result in him becoming violent towards them.

Things started changing when he met Cyrus. It was at that point where he felt that he wasn't stupid anymore. Cyrus made him feel good about himself.

There were still a few times when TJ lost his cool, but unlike previous situations, Cyrus was there to calm him down.

One such instance happened in maths class, where he was sat in between Cyrus and Jonah. It was becoming difficult for TJ to like Jonah, but he attempted to because of the fact that Jonah was Cyrus' friend.

"I just don't get this task" TJ sighed.

"It's really quite easy" Jonah insisted "Even I can do it"

"Don't patronise me" TJ reacted "I still find it hard"

"Don't worry, I'll help you" Cyrus interjected.

"Thanks" TJ mumbled.

Cyrus was not sure why Jonah was acting the way he was, but he was going to try and keep TJ and Jonah on the same page.

"So you have to add 5 and times it by 7?" TJ wondered.

"Yes it---" Cyrus began.

"Are you really that dumb?!" Jonah snapped "It's literally written in front of you!"

"That's it!" TJ shouted.

TJ grabbed Jonah and was about to hit him, when Cyrus grabbed TJ's arm. He wasn't going to let this happen.

"Don't do this TJ" Cyrus begged "You're better than that"

TJ let Jonah go quickly, as Cyrus was the only person who could ever convince him to rise above his problems.

As TJ left to calm down, Cyrus was disappointed that his two best friends were unable to get along, and he was absolutely furious with the way Jonah acted.

"What is you problem?" Cyrus demanded "Why are you treating TJ like that?"

"Because he's a horrible person" Jonah responded "Why do you even like him?"

"I can see the good in people" Cyrus explained "Unfortunately, I can't include you at the moment"

Cyrus didn't let Jonah say anything, instead he went looking for TJ. He found him sat down in a corridor, next to his locker.

"Mind if I join?" Cyrus asked.

"Yeah, sure" TJ answered.

As Cyrus sat down, he saw that TJ's eyes were red. Clearly he had been crying, but Cyrus knew TJ would never admit to it.

"I'm sorry about what Jonah said" Cyrus opened "He was completely out of order"

"I try so hard to do well and be kind" TJ muttered "And it just gets thrown back at me"

"Don't think about it too much" Cyrus advised "People are seeing how you've grown"

"I just wish you could always be with me" TJ stated "Forever, by my side"

"Who says I won't be?" Cyrus reacted.

"You'll probably find some nice girl" TJ sighed.

Cyrus was completely confused by what TJ was saying, and he couldn't stop himself anymore. He gave TJ the biggest kiss he's ever given, and hoped this would answer TJ.

"I don't want a nice girl" Cyrus insisted "When I can have a strong boy like you!"

"You really mean that?" TJ posed.

"Of course, now grab my hand, we're going back to class" Cyrus rejoined "And together, we will rise above it"

Cyrus helped TJ up and they walked hand in hand back to their class. Jonah stared wide eyed at them, and when they sat back down, Cyrus sat in between them.

"I don't get it" Jonah started.

"Now you know what it feels like" TJ retorted.

"I'm going out with TJ" Cyrus declared.

"And we're not going to be bothered by what you say" TJ added.

Jonah quietly went back to doing his work, whilst Cyrus looked at TJ and for the first time ever, he saw a beaming smile on the taller boy's face.
