The First Meeting

TJ was enjoying a relaxing walk, letting his mind clear and forgetting about all of the stress that he had been feeling.

He was not popular at school and it was getting to him. Whenever he looked around, he saw other people having fun and hanging out.

TJ had no friends, and that made him feel worthless. He just wanted someone to talk to him, but he knew he was not the most approachable person in the world.

TJ found a tree and sat under it, enjoying the warm weather whilst sat in the shade. He was listening to some music when he felt someone nudge him. It was Cyrus, who was looking bored.

TJ didn't know much about Cyrus, but was glad of the company and hoped they would be able to be friends.

"Lovely day, isn't it?" Cyrus started.

"Oh yes, you're beautiful" TJ responded "I-I mean it's beautiful"

"You're funny!" Cyrus giggled "So cool!"

"And you are the only person who wants to talk to me" TJ reacted.

"That's not true, I'm sure" Cyrus assured.

"Sadly, it is the truth" TJ rejoined "No one ever seems to want to hang out with me"

"Well, I know what you mean" Cyrus stated "I don't really have friends either"

It was one of those moments where TJ felt different, in a good way. The way Cyrus was talking to him made him feel like he was a human being.

"Do you wanna hang out with me?" TJ wondered.

"I'd love to, that would be brilliant" Cyrus concurred.

"Cool, it's nice to have someone pleasant around" TJ added.

Subconsciously, Cyrus had allowed his hand to slip into TJ's. He tensed at first, before grabbing Cyrus' hand back.

"Sorry, does this weird you out?" Cyrus posed.

"Not at all" TJ reacted "I meant what I said, you are beautiful"

"And you're very handsome" Cyrus complimented.

"What do you say we go out?" TJ suggested "I know it's very sudden, but something about you fascinates me"

"I'd like that very much" Cyrus agreed.

Standing up, they walked hand in hand, not caring that people were looking. Put quite simply, they were going to go against the world together.
