Louis' house was the penthouse of a large building. The ride in the elevator took about three full minutes before we finally arrived. There was a small hallway that lead to a single door when we arrived. Harry entered a code into the small pad next to the door, which clicked open right away.
We entered and ended up in the living room immediately. The room was spacious, with windows covering a whole wall and the decorating style was beautiful but simple. The room was messy though, especially where the other men were seated on two large couches that were placed around a plasma tv screen. The smell of smoke entered my nose.
From the corner of my eye I saw Harry hang up his jacket on the coat rack next to the door and again, I followed suit. He walked over to the men and dropped himself on a free spot on the couch. He signalled me with his eyes to the small space remaining next to him. I sat down without a protest, not forgetting the threats he made earlier.
"Good to see ya, Haz." Niall bellowed loudly, taking a swig of beer which was followed by a long drag of a cigarette. The other men greeted Harry too while he grabbed a pack of cigarettes from the table and lit one with ease. He also took a long drag, blowing the smoke out slowly. I found myself staring at him again.
He leaned back on the couch, his right arm swung over the back and his left hand holding the cigarette. He radiated power, sitting like that. It wasn't only his looks that made your eyes drift to him when he walked into a room. It was also his presence, his aura.
A strange girl suddenly walked into the livingroom, holding a bottle of beer and placing it down before Harry. She then walked over to Niall and took place next to him.
I observed her with wide eyes, totally droning out the conversation that the men were having about a game of football that must have been on TV last night. She had red hair, cascading in long locks over her shoulders. Her face was covered in freckles, which made her blue eyes pop even more. She was breathtaking.
She also didn't notice me staring as she was watching Niall intently with a loving gaze on her face. I couldn't believe it. Was she with him? Was she the same as the girl in the dining room two weeks ago?
"Emma, go make us some food." Harry addressed me out of nowhere, which made me look at him again. It was the first time he used my real name. I nodded swiftly and stood up, before realising I had no idea where the kitchen was.
"I'll show you where the kitchen is." Spoke the red-headed girl with a small smile, reading my mind. She walked around the couch towards the other side of the room. I followed her and felt glad to be away from Harry's close proximity. I hadn't forgiven him for locking me in a room for two weeks straight. Or for kidnapping me.
"I'm Nova by the way." She turned to me when we arrived into the kitchen. I shook her hand, stating my name quickly even though she probably heard it already when Harry addressed me. My gaze observed the kitchen which was pristine. It almost looked like it wasn't touched before which was quite the contrast from the living room. I found it weird that it was separated from the living room with a door.
"Let's just make some eggs, toast and bacon. They're always happy with that." She smiled at me but I couldn't bring myself to smile back. She must have been here for quite some time to know the way to the kitchen and to know what they liked. Nova noticed my lack of friendliness, her cheery mood fading.
"I know this must seem weird." She says with a hushed voice. "I'm sorry that you are here against your free will. You must despise me." Now sadness was taking over her expression.
"I heard how you ended up here from Niall. It must be really hard, especially having to live with Harry." She whispered the last bit of her sentence as if she was afraid the men would hear her. "So I can understand that you might dislike me but if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." She waited a moment to observe my reaction.
I couldn't resist a small smile because of her genuineness and thanking her. I didn't know her story and why she was here but I was glad for the little safe space she just offered away from Harry. She could even play a role in my escape. I immediately pushed that thought out of my head. It was way too risky to escape.
"So how are you holding up?" She started the conversation. I told her about being alone for two weeks, the abuse and how scared I felt, all the words just spilling out while we worked on some food. She was good at listening and answering at exactly the right times. I even laughed a few times.
We took about half an hour to make an assortment of snacks which included nacho's and cheese fingers. She had made two separate plates for us with some raw veggies and dip and some nacho's. We both carried several thing to the table in the living room. I almost felt sad leaving the little bubble of happiness.
The men made sounds of approval when looking at the snacks and started eating as if they were starved. I walked up to Harry again.
"Sit on my lap." He said, grinning at me with an intense look. I nodded and awkwardly positioned myself on his lap. It felt weird, especially when all the other men looked at me. I didn't dare to disobey Harry especially when I saw the gun laying on the salon table between the mess of beer bottles and snacks.
Harry stole several nacho's from the small plate I had gotten from Nova, but I didn't really care. I was especially happy with the vegetables that were on there which I had really missed in the two weeks. I sipped some water in between, also having received that from Nova after a few minutes.
The men were talking, laughing and drinking for quite a while, making me feel very bored. I still couldn't follow much of the conversation since they were now talking about a family I didn't know. Apparently this family was a threat to them. The conversation shifted to clubbing later, Harry stating they had to go out soon again.
I had almost emptied my plate when I saw Zayn shoving a few bottles to the side on the table and placing some stuff from his back pocket on the empty space. It didn't take me long to recognise it was weed and some rolling paper. He expertly rolled a joint, and then three more.
I shifted uneasily now that both alcohol and drugs were present. These two never matched. Also, my place on Harry's lap was starting to become uncomfortable. He grabbed my hips to stop me from moving.
"I wouldn't move too much if I were you." His voice raspy, casting his warm breath on my neck. He pulled my hips back a little bit so that his hips were suit against mine. I could feel his bulge and swallowed uneasily, letting out a small whimper. Luckily, he let my hips go and I shifted a little bit so that I wasn't that close to his body.
"Eat up." He glance to the last vegetables laying on my plate. "It's time to get high."
