Chapter 39

I let the soft fabric of the new dress slip through my fingers once again. The golden necklace on my neck felt too heavy to wear. I couldn't take it off though because Harry had carefully hung it around my neck stating that it would compliment my outfit so well. It did. My eyes raked over the mirror, adorning the reflection. The dress certainly highlighted my curves, the heels making me tall and powerful and the necklace glistening in the light. 

We were about to leave for the dinner at Evans and I was so nervous that my hands didn't stop shaking. Harry had made sure to take my mind off of the whole dinner during our time in Paris, but it was inevitable that time caught up to us. I had been living in a bubble.

When I had woken up an hour or so later, after having sex with Harry, he was still next to me. His naked body laid on the top of the sheets, the sun casting rays down on the porcelain skin. He was staring up to the ceiling. It was a wonderful view to wake up to. The moment I wanted to move though, a moan of discomfort left my mouth. I was sore. 

"Sore?" Harry's head had turned towards me immediately making me pull the blanket up a little higher over my boobs while I nodded. It felt weird waking up next to Harry, naked and sore. Almost awkward. 

"Let's take a shower. It will help." He spoke, standing up and stretching with a few loud pops of his cracking spine. The moment he turned around to walk to my side of the bed I closed my eyes. He was walking around so shamelessly. Even though he had been inside me earlier, literally, it felt weird to see him like this. I was overthinking it way too much again. 

"Are you ashamed, Kitten?" His voice had a hidden chuckle in it. I opened my eyes and was shocked to find him hanging above me. I mumbled a small 'no'. He pressed his lips against mine and he scooped me up from the bed without hesitation, walking straight into the shower. 

I had expected Harry wanting more once we were in the shower but he simply held me close underneath the steady flow of water, casually helping me with washing up but not touching me intimately. I was grateful for it because my legs were stiff and my lower region was just very sore. 

The thing was, it felt strange to cuddle up to Harry and seek comfort in him. He simply wasn't the person to do that. So I didn't. 

"Time to make my promise come true." Harry spoke, rummaging through a suitcase that was on the ground with his back towards me. I couldn't shake the ominous feeling in my stomach. I knew then, that I was still scared of him. 

"What promise?" I asked him hesitantly, thinking back about all the things he had said to me before. The only promise I could remember was me agreeing to be his. I clutched the towel tighter around my body, toying with a corner of the fabric to distract myself. 

He stood up, wearing a pair of boxers already, and turned around. My eyes shot to his hand immediately to see what he was holding. It was a little box. He walked to me within two large strides and gave it to me. Hesitantly I opened it, revealing a golden necklace. 

"I said I'd spoil you if you came with me to Paris." He must have read the confusion on my face. My mouth fell open a bit as I was at a loss of words. 

"This is for me?" I questioned, still not really believing it. Had everything really changed after having sex? Harry nodded, the corner of his mouth turned up. 

"Thank you." I breathed out, putting the necklace on the bed and wrapping my arms around him. He felt steady and warm. He didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around me too, pulling me against his chest. His body was warm and smelled fresh. Whenever he touched me, I got so lost in it. 

"Get dressed, we're going out." He spoke, his voice rumbling in his chest. 

"Out?" I questioned, expecting an answer this time. If we were going to do this, he had to let me in. He let his arms fall away from me to retrieve a pair of black skinny jeans from the suitcase as well, pulling them on with ease.
