The hospital room was white, clean and nerve-wracking. The room smelled of disinfectant, the beeping of the machines kept me awake and every nurse that had entered my room didn't utter a single word.

It had been a few hours since I had woken up. My body had been in full panic-mode immediately, when large bands that were tightened over my chest, shoulders and legs kept me pinned against the bed. I didn't know where I was, what had happened and why I was stuck.

It took the nurses a long while and a dose of sedatives to keep me calm. They had released the bands shortly after, but I hadn't missed the shadows of people right outside my door, that I could see through the blinds in front of the window. I was stuck and I had no idea what had happened.

A knock on the door made my eyes shoot up from the thread that I was fumbling with. I could still feel the sedative dragging my senses down and it felt like forever until my eyes lifted enough to see who was entering. It was a woman in her forties, followed by a younger woman and man.

"Hi Emma." The older woman spoke softly. She had her brown hair pulled in a bun, glasses were perched on her nose and she was wearing casual jeans and a white blouse. I had never seen that woman before in my life. I could feel the anxiety running through my body.

"Don't worry." She smiled, when she saw my panicked expression. It didn't make me worry any less. Who was she? Why were the other two people here? And most important of all, what had happened to me?

The woman grabbed a wooden chair that was stood at the little table in my room and moved it towards the bed and sat down. Her green eyes were huge through her glasses and surprisingly warm.

"This must be very confusing for you, so let me introduce myself first, yeah?" She smiled. I waited for her to continue, but she simply maintained eye-contact until I have her a small nod.

"Great. I'm Rachel Hastings, and my colleagues are Logan and Riley. We all work for the criminal investigation department." She paused for a second to see my reaction. I tried to keep my face straight, but I didn't miss the heart monitor beating faster. Rachel smiled again.

"Don't worry," She said once more. "We are here today to get a better understanding of what happened to you because we've been searching for you for a long time."

"What?" I mumbled, totally confused. I tried to pry my brain once again for the things I remembered, but nothing came to mind. It felt like I had been in a coma for months. Rachel looked at me intensely, observing every reaction. Her piercing green eyes made me uncomfortable.

"Several months ago, we got a notification of an orphanage that had been attacked. I was the one assigned to check it out and discover what had happened. The only thing we found was that you were missing, according to the other kids. Ever since then, I've been searching for you." She explained to me.

I kept silent for a minute, or maybe five, while my thoughts raced through my head at a thousand kilometres per hour. I tried to remember that but in my mind, I was just endlessly walking to the orphanage from work. The road seemed a lot longer than it actually was. Then, a flash of green eyes, definitely not Rachel's though, flashed through my mind. These eyes were forest green, piercing and cold.

Harry. His name shot through my head at once, along with some distorted flashes. It was all too incoherent. I realised now that I missed a large part of my memory.

"I... I don't..." I stuttered, while my hands started to shake. Panic flashed through me, but I realised it wasn't because I wanted to tell Rachel about what happened. I simply wanted the memories; I wanted to know what had happened and who Harry was.
