I swallowed and shrugged. "Well, some of Amanda's friends invited us to a party and..."

"Then why are you still here?"

I looked at her with big eyes, before I shrugged. "Well, because mom told me that..."

"Oh, shh. What your mother tells you is not as important as what her mother tells you." She smiled and put a hair behind my ear. "You are beautiful, you are young. Go and live your life. Get drunk, sleep with cute boys, but don't get pregnant, because then your old grandma will have a heart attack, go to parties and be happy."

"Are you saying that..."

"Yes, you're free to go."

I squealed and threw my arms around her. "Thank you so much! You're the best. I love you." As I was leaving my room, she cleared her throat and I turned around, confused.

"Is this really how you want to go, eh Pancake?"

I looked up and down at myself and realized I was still in my sweatpants and hoodie, so I smiled thankfully and went to my closet.

As I looked through my already messy closet, I felt the presence of my grandma behind me. "What would you like to wear? It must be sexy, you know? Wear something I would wear at your age."

"Yes, I'm looking, but I can't find anything."

She interrupted me by swinging her hips against mine, pushing me aside and shaking her head. "You still don't know what's good, eh? Your mother didn't raise you well, I see."

I snorted, trying to duck out of laughter as my grandma twirled around in a really short dress and really showing underwear I'd bought just for Dylan. "Come on, fire it up. Fire it up, I wanna see my beautiful granddaughter!"

I smiled and kissed her cheek with a thank you before I went to the bathroom, did my hair and make-up and came back.

When I opened the door, my grandmother started whistling under her breath while staring at me in awe. "Yes, you are definitely my flesh and blood."

I laughed and went over to her to hug her. "Thanks for everything, Grandma."

"Oh, no need to thank me, Pancake. I'd do anything for you." She pushed me tenderly away from her and pushed me past the door into our living room. "So now we'll get you some high heels and you're ready to go."

"Oh, no, I'm not gonna wear high heels. I'll wear my Doc Martens!"

She stopped immediately and looked up at me, her eyes full of shock. "Sorry, what? You gotta wear high heels for this thing."

I laughed and shook my head. "No, I'm not wearing high heels. I only have one pair and they're very uncomfortable, so thank you."

"Quoting Ariana Grande's song will not help you in this situation."

"Where are you going?" My mom interrupted my grandma when she came into the living room. She looked up and down at me, then our eyes met and she just shook her head. "No. You're not going anywhere. And especially not in that dress."

I closed my eyes and shook my head. I knew this would happen. "Mom..."

"Oh Angelina, let her live, for God's sake!" My grandmother interrupted me and came closer to my mother. "She's going to a party and I let her go and showed her something to wear."

My mother shook her head and folded her arms in front of her chest. "Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. Mom, she's not going out like that. She's gonna get laid and..."

"So? What's the problem? You dated so much worse, kiddo."

I raised my eyebrows. "Really? Mom, you never told me..."

"No comment, sweetie. Go upstairs and change, you stay here."

I exhaled in disappointment and tried to turn around, but my grandmother grabbed my wrist. "No, she's leaving."

"But, Mom, she's my daughter and..."

"And my granddaughter. Let her live, and we'll have a few glasses of wine while Michael's away, eh?" Without waiting for her permission, my grandma nodded and put her arm around my mother's shoulders She's quite a small woman, but she was not to be underestimated. That would be a big mistake. "So have fun, pancakes, and don't do anything I wouldn't do!" She shouted as she pushed my mother out of the living room and winked at me.

I laughed and quickly threw on my shoes and a thin jacket before I left the house and called Amanda. She didn't pick up, so I tried Kanzie, but she didn't answer either.

I figured out how I was gonna get there, so I went to Instagram. I checked the followers of Amanda and found Anthony before I sent him a message asking where the party was going to be.

The answer came faster than I expected and I realized that the house was only a 5 minute walk away.

I typed quickly and sent a reply before closing the app and starting to walk. It got really dark and after a minute or two I couldn't even see my own hands if there was no streetlight above me. My paranoid self started to rethink and imagined the serial killer jumping out of every bush in front of me. But of course there was no one there, and I made it safely to Anthony's house and rang the bell.
I doubted that anyone would hear the doorbell.

After a minute or two my fear grew and I turned around to look at the empty streets in front of the huge white house with the huge windows, loud music resounding through the thick walls.

When I turned around, I imagined a movement in the street and tried to concentrate on it.

Suddenly I heard a clicking noise behind me and I turned around screaming as I held my hands ready to attack.

But when I heard another high scream, I opened my eyes and looked into a beautiful blue pair of eyes. But they were not only beautiful, I also knew them. They belonged to him.

"Whoa, slow down, you scared the he'll out of me." He held back in the middle of the sentence and focused on me. Then his eyes were opened wide and his mouth fell open. "Sophia?"
