For you, the home that you were going to was a place of new beginning.

Back on your kingdom, on your planet which was nearly completely abandoned, in the midst of the remains of what had been burned down by you, you chose to rebuild your home, where you and Kylo would remain for the rest of your lives, raising your children together.

Kylo sat by, weak but healing still, watching as you laid the foundation using the Force. You raised chunks of stone left behind from the flames that tore through your castle. You built a house, with a few rooms, enough room for a family, and you and Kylo eventually filled it with furniture and other things - and you made it a home.

Finn helped when he could, but to protect you, he couldn't come all of the time. For some reason, members of the Resistance didn't want to let the war go, even if it was over. They placed the blame on Kylo, and some of it on you. Of course you didn't blame them for that. He was a murderer. You were a murderer.

You said your final goodbye to Finn one month after coming back.

You wrapped your arms around his neck and squeezed it tight. "I feel like I've said goodbye to you a million times," you breathed.

"I know," he said. "This feels different though."

You pulled away, hands on his shoulders, and you wiped a tear off of your cheek. "Please consider visiting us."

"Are you kidding? Once that baby comes, I'll be here often," he said. "The kid needs an uncle."

You smiled and grabbed his hands. Warm feelings swelled in your chest, and you couldn't think of what to say. So you just said to him, "Thank you, for being my family. When I had none."

Finn was getting emotional, so he just hugged you again, touched his forehead to yours, and shut his eyes. You kept him there for a moment, and he pulled away. He smiled at you, then nodded and smiled at Kylo, who stood behind you, giving you time.

"Bye, Finn," you said. "May the Force be with you."

"And you," he said, flashing a grin. "I'll see you around."

You didn't cry as he left, because you knew that it was true.

That night, you laid down in bed with Kylo. You put your head on his chest and closed your eyes. He rubbed your back slowly. Everything was quiet.

"Everything feels so different now," you said.

"I hope that's a good thing," Kylo said.

You lifted your head and looked at him. Your hair fell across your forehead; Kylo brushed it away. "Of course it's a good thing."

He smiled, and you leaned down and kissed him. When he stopped kissing you, you pulled back enough to look at him. He was looking down at his chest. "I wanted to ask you something."

Your eyebrows pulled together. Anxious, you said, "You can ask me anything."

"I told you that you could call me whatever you want," he said, "and I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to. But I... I want to be Ben again. I can feel how they're two different people. I have been two different people. I don't want to be torn like that again."

"Then I'll call you Ben," you said. "You're the same man to me either way. You know I'd follow you anywhere."

He smiled. "And I'd cross the stars to find you, princess."

Time and time again, he has. He agreed to marry you as Kylo so that he could find you after you'd been separated from Ben. He allowed you to rule the First Order, never demanding a high position, and only ever supporting you as the Supreme Leader. And when you ran away, he ran away, too. When Kylo turned against you, and you ran from him, he came to find you through the Force. You searched for him to save him. He saved you. You saved him. And now you were together, and you weren't ever going to let him escape your grasp again.

That night, you swore it wasn't a dream.

It was too warm, too bright.

You stepped out of your house, and the sun was pouring through the green trees. It was chilly in the shadows, but the sun was so warm against your skin.

You heard Ben's laugh, and you turned your head to the left.

And he was standing there, in different clothing made of tan fabric, with leather boots, the front part of his hair braided back. He was shaking with laughter, and you strained your neck to see that in front of him was a dark brown haired, pale boy, with freckles dotting his cheeks and a stick in his hands.

He made noises to mock the sound of a lightsaber, and he spun it around. "See that one, Daddy? That's what Auntie Rey showed me!"

"That's very impressive, Phoenix," he said.

"And Uncle Finn taught me how to do this!" He threw his hand out from him and focused really hard. A pebble moved off of the ground only an inch, and then fell down. Exhausted now, the child dropped his shoulders. "I can't do it as good as you and and Uncle Finn, Papa."

"It'll just take practice," he said. "And you've got a whole family to teach you the ways of the Force."

"When, Papa?"

"When the time is right," he told him.

Phoenix, the child that you knew without a doubt was yours, looked over his papa's shoulder and directly at you. He grinned from ear to ear and ran around his papa, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Mama!"

You dropped to your knees automatically and enveloped him in your arms. You stood up and hugged him tight, breathing in his scent, holding him close for the briefest of moments. When you opened your eyes, you saw Ben walking across the mossy floor over to you, his hand out and ready.

You took it. You'd always take it.

When you lifted your head off of Ben's chest, you looked around. It wasn't sunny, it wasn't warm. It was cold. There wasn't a child in your arms, but a baby in your stomach. You touched the bump of it, where Phoenix was, and you smiled warmly.

You placed your head back on Ben's chest, and his arms went around you. Suddenly, you were back in that hut on the island, not yet knowing that Luke was about to tear you and Ben apart.

Somehow, you'd made it all the way back, right to the beginning.
