"Now, I'm gonna be coming from 2nd Chronicles verse fourteen. It goes on to say, "If my people, which are called by my name , shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. When my father finished the scripture, I kind of zoned out. I was so eager to start public school tomorrow.

Everybody begin standing up, so I followed suit. That was fast, I thought. Joining hands we all bowed our heads, and prayed, then we were released to go our separate ways.

After everybody departed the church, my Father proceeded to lock up. Then, we all headed for the car, after saying our goodbye's to everyone. "Did you enjoy the sermon sweetheart?" My dad asked pulling off. "Yes sir, it was refreshing.." My mom agreed, then asked, "What did I think we should have for dinner?" "We should have a good home cooked meal," I suggested. "Are you gonna help me with this home cooked meal, or do you expect me to slave over a stove all day?" My mom teased. "Of course I'll help," Riley said laughing.

Thirty minutes later, we pulled up to our house. We had a normal three bedroom house, nothing fancy. My mom and I headed for the kitchen, while my dad headed for the living room.

An hour in a half later, my mom and I had a hot meal spread across the whole table. I'm talking chicken, greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni & cheese and a pound cake. "Do we have some punch mom?" I asked looking at my mom. "It's in the fridge," she replied. "I don't see it," I mumbled. My mom came over and went directly to it. "If it were a snake, it would've bit you," she laughed.

Minutes later, we were all seated ready to say our prayers over our food. "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for this wonderful food that is set before us, bless this food to be satisfying to the body. In Jesus name, "Amen." We all said,"amen" in unison.

As soon as the prayer was over, none of us hesitated to dig in. "You ready for school tomorrow?" My dad asked. "Yes sir," Riley smiled. "Riley, you know I still don't think this is a good idea, but I see that your so eager, so were gonna let you go," she said. "I know mom." "We just want the best for you, and we don't want you to get wrapped up with the wrong people," my mom added.

"Yes, and you know the bible say," If sinners entice thee, consent thou not," my dad quoted a proverb. I knew this was coming, I just didn't know when. "I understand dad, you both have taught me well. "Now it's time for me to spread my wings, and leave the nest," I said jokingly. They both looked up from their plates and smiled at me. "We're proud of you honey," my mom said clearing the table. Smiling, I helped my mom with the dishes, then went to my room for the rest of the night.
