* Making amends* School was coming to an end, which meant test were coming up. I was out of five finals, since I had passing grades in those classes. In two of my classes, I had to take test. The test weren't so bad, when we finished we just sat there and watched the time.

Apparently, all I had to do was check into my other classes for attendance. So, I did as I was suppose to, I could have left but my last final was later in the day. Instead, I went to lunch to see there was soup and a peanut butter butter and jelly sandwich. Along with a carton of milk. The soup tasted good to be school lunch and the pb&j was a sensation. When I finished someone came up to me and covered my eyes. I didn't know whether it was Amy or Josh. Letting me go, I felt a peck on the cheek. Instantly, I knew it was Josh, Amy would never kiss me. "You done with your test?" Josh asked. "No, I have one more."

Josh grabbed his vibrating phone from his pocket. He walked away to have some privacy, but when his demeanor changed I knew something was wrong. "What's wrong?" I asked looking up to him in concern. "My mom is in the hospital, the doctor called me to let me know she is stable and they're running some test on her," he said sadly.

When I finished my test, Josh waited for me outside the classroom. Since, it was my last class and test, I just asked to go to the bathroom and ended up leaving the school. Josh headed straight for the hospital. We rode in silence, except for the engine's motor. When we pulled up, we got out and briefly made our way inside. "How may I help you the receptionist asked?" Looking through a magazine. "What room number is Camella Daniel's in?" Josh asked in a panic. I squeezed his hand letting him know I was their for him. "She's in room 118, and who are y- The receptionist didn't even get to finish before Josh bolted off. Looking at each number on the wall left and right. He finally came up to a room and opened the door to go inside. Josh stayed in the for hours, I begin to hungry. Pacing the floor, waiting and waiting for him to come out. For a second, I thought he had forgot about me. Until I heard footsteps, I looked up in his eyes and saw they were stained. "Oh Josh ! " I said throwing my arms around him, he sobbed onto my shoulder.

After ten minutes standing in the same position, we took a seat beside an early guy. "How is she?" I asked pulling him off of me to look into his eyes. He wiped his nose with the back of his hands and I wiped his tears away. "I don't know, she just look so still in that hospital bed. Someone cleared their throat behind us and we broke apart and looked up. "Are you Josh Daniels?" The doctor asked. Y-Yes sir," he mumbled. "Your mother is just fine, he vitals are looking good and she should be out of here by tomorrow afternoon," the doctor said. "Thank you," Josh said leaping up and hugging the doctor. We left the doctors' office with high hopes of Camella getting released tomorrow.

"Do you want some ice cream?" Josh asked pulling into McDonald's. "Yes, I'd love some." "A sundae or a cone?"he asked. "A caramel sundae," I stated licking my lips. "Welcome to McDonald's, what can I get you today?" The lady said through the intercom. "I'd like a caramel sundae and a fudge sundae, please." "Your total is $2.41 pull around to the the window," she ushered. Josh pulled out $5 and the lady repeated his order and took the money, then gave him his change back. She closed the window, then quickly opened it back up handing Josh our sundae's with a few napkins and two spoons. Josh handed them both to me, since he was driving. Then we pulled off and headed home.

When we pulled up in the driveway, Josh grabbed his nearly melted sundae out the cup holder and dug in with his spoon. I was almost done with my sundae when we made it in the house. Sitting on the couch, I grabbed the remote and clicked the TV on. When I saw my picture on the screen, I choked on the icecream in my mouth. Josh ran over and patted my back, then his gaze landed on the TV. "My parents put out and APB, seriously ! "I'm right down the street, we both exchanged confused glances when there was a knock at the door. Josh quietly walked to the door and looked through the peephole, he looked at me with a look that was indescribable before opening the door. "Have you seen this young lady?" Someone asked. Josh pointed at me and I was in total confusion. "Young lady, did you run away from home?" The police officer asked. "No Sir, my parents kicked me out, so I have been living here," I stated truthfully. "Your parents have been worried sick about you, and your sure you didn't run away?" He asked giving me a pointed look. "No, I - "Come with us, we'll escort you back home," the Officer cut me off. "Can I at least grab my things?" I asked looking sad. "Yes, you have ten minutes," he officer pointed at his watch.

Josh and I both headed for the guest room, he helped me pack my things. We finished in eight minutes tops, which left us with two minutes to say Goodbye. "I'm gonna miss you," he said hugging me. "I'm gonna miss you, too and I will see you again. I don't care what my parents say, we are old enough to make the right decisions," I said crying into his chest. "We'll see each other again," Josh assured me after giving me a kiss. "TIMES UP," the officer yelled. I dragged my suitcases and got in the back of the car.

The officer drove a few blocks down and escorted me inside. "We'll take it from here, Thanks for bringing her home officers," my dad said waving the officers off.

"We're sorry we kicked you out, there was so much going on and we just said the wrong thing. You are our only daughter and before we know it you'll be headed off to college. We can lead you to the water, but we can't make you drink. Your getting older and will start making decisions of your own in due time, but remember we are behind you as long as its right," my dad said hugging me.

My parents and I sat on the couch and talked all into the night. We caught up on each others lives and I let them know about Josh. I couldn't leave out that he was now my boyfriend and we would see each other. My mom was smiling and my dad said he wanted to meet him. I don't think Josh was ready for an interrogation, but then again who is. We ate some chips and watched some movie on hallmark, until I fell asleep on the sofa.
