Nini took a deep breathe before she started strumming on her ukulele. I couldn't help but notice how she played with her eyes closed, clearly having the cords memorized.

She took one more deep breathe, eyes still closed and began to sing quietly, "scattered and wispy clouds in the sky... cirrus clouds are drifting by. Long and flat clouds in the sky... stratus clouds are moving by. Large and fluffy clouds in the sky... cumulus clouds are floating by. High and dark clouds in the sky... cumulonimbus clouds are thundering sky."

I was mesmerized. It was like I was in a trance and my only focus was on her. "So?" She asked.

A light shade of pink grew in her cheeks as I kept my eyes on her unable to find the words that hung on the tip on my tongue.

"Ricky!" She whined, giving me a shove.

I shook my head, blinking a few times snapping back to reality, "s-sorry. That was—" I stopped to think of the right words, "it was amazing, Nini. You have such a gift."

The pink grew into a darker shade of red, "stop lying!"

I've known Nini practically my whole life. Ever since our first day of kindergarten, we've been almost inseparable. She was my first friend and I can read her like the back of my hand. One thing I've always noticed is she can't take compliments very well.

"Do you remember the first time I heard you sing?" I asked.

Her face twitches into a small smile before she nods. "Yes. It was the first day we met. We sang the Itsy-bitsy spider around the ABC rug in kindergarten."

"Yep. Do you remember how I couldn't even finish the song because I was too busy listening to you," I laughed slightly at the memory. "You looked at me like I had ten heads staring at you."

She let out a loud laugh at the realization, "it was kind of like how you were just looking at me."

"I will never get sick of hearing you sing," I admit.

"I'm not that good—"

"Please don't do that," I snapped cutting her off.

She looked at me with wide eyes, "don't do what?"

"Don't belittle yourself Nini, you're a star."

"Okay. Okay," she smiled quietly. "Okay fine, thank you."

"Can I post this?" I asked.

I could tell she was uneasy about it by the way she shifted in her seat. "Can we listen to it first?"

"Yes, of course."

I quickly got up grabbing the camera, forgetting it was recording that whole moment.

I set it back to the beginning and pressed play.

"Scattered and wispy clouds in the sky... cirrus clouds are drifting by. Long and flat clouds in the sky... stratus clouds are moving by. Large and fluffy clouds in the sky... cumulus clouds are floating by. High and dark clouds in the sky... cumulonimbus clouds are thundering sky."

I stopped it before we had a chance to relive that awkward moment.

"Okay I approve," she smiles.

"I'll edit it later, and send you the link when I post it. Want to watch a movie or something?"
