Since it's been a month since me and Nini have actually hung out, my nerves are even worse than when I felt awkward around her. Something changed that night; not in the bad way but not in a good way either, it was just new. And new is scary.
"Sup Man?" I said tapping Big Red on his shoulder.
He turned around flashing me a quick smile before he closed his book, "hey, so I was thinking when you come over tonight we could watch this really coo—"
"Uhm!" I started, cutting him off. "About that, Nini is coming over my house tonight."
He didn't let the disappointment show on his face, and it broke my heart a little bit. "Nini? I thought you weren't talking to her after the whole cuddling night on your birthday?"
"Yeah, well... she started talking about a guy and I kinda lost it and did last minute thinking and invited her over."
"So you don't want her to be happy?"
"What?!" I screamed, earning a few stares from people around us. "Of course I want her happy. Why would you say that?"
"You liked her Ricky, but you were scared to admit it. Now that she is moving on or whatever you wanna call moving on from your moment guys had you want to be friends with her again."
I leaned back in my chair soaking it in, he did have a point. "I want her happy."
"So don't fuck it up again. If you want her, let it be known don't hide it. Don't push her away either, let her know what's going on or else she'll think of the worst possible reason herself."
He did speak the truth, and left me with a lot to think about.

My stomach was in knots by the time 6:30 rolled around. I just kept repeating the song I was going to sing in case the nerves got the best of me and I forgot it.

I quickly run over to my phone, hoping Nini is just saying she's coming early but I was wrong.
